Garoppolo didn’t play “bad.” It’s only his second season as a starter.

Remember that time the Saints were actually on the Patriots level and beat them 38-17?

Brady remembers, he sat half the 4th qtr

And the season after with Brady...?

Pats were a very older/maturing team in 2007... by 2009 most of that roster was geriatric. Drastically different team that the 07-08 teams

quote:

Unrestricted free agents, wide receiver Jabar Gaffney,[17] long snapper Lonie Paxton,[18] and running back LaMont Jordan[19] all joined McDaniels and the Denver Broncos. Fullback Heath Evans signed with the New Orleans Saints[20] and linebacker Larry Izzo signed with the New York Jets.[21] During the second day of the draft, cornerback Ellis Hobbs was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for two 2009 fifth-round draft selections.[22] On June 4, safety Rodney Harrison, who became a free agent following the 2008 season, retired from football.[23] On August 17, the Patriots traded defensive lineman Le Kevin Smith to the Denver Broncos with a seventh-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles (see below) in exchange for the Broncos' 2010 fifth-round pick, which became the selection that went to the Oakland Raiders in a prior trade.[

24] On August 25, the Patriots again traded with the Broncos, this time sending offensive lineman Russ Hochstein to the Broncos for the same seventh-round draft selection in the 2010 draft.[25]

After playing in the team's first three preseason games as a reserve, linebacker Tedy Bruschi announced his retirement on August 31, after 13 seasons with the Patriots.[26] During final roster cutdowns, on September 5, the Patriots traded tight end David Thomas to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft,[27] which later became a sixth-round pick.[28]

The next day, the Patriots traded All-Pro defensive lineman Richard Seymour to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a first-round selection in the 2011 NFL Draft.[29]

Pats had like 3 runningbacks that were old as shite (Faulk, Morris, Fred Taylor) and had Joey Galloway on the week 1 roster way past him prime.

2009 was probably the worst team of the era for the pats by a long shot.

So can the Niners' apparently.

Jimmy G was 17/20 at one point and if they just run the ball in the 4th quarter they probably win the game by multiple scores.

Jimmy G took over a 1-10 49ers team in 2017 and went 5-0, then in 2018 when he got hurt, they finished with 2nd worst record and this year they were 9 minutes from winning the SB. Jimmy G had a 27 - 13 TD to INT ration on 69% comp with a 102 PR.

Jacoby Brissett took over the colts with two weeks to go until regular season cause Luck suddenly retired. They went 8-6 in games he started and finished and he had 18 -6 td to int ratio

Cassell took the Chiefs to the playoffs in 2010 and had a better individual season than he did in 08 when the pats played one of the easiest scheds in the nfl and got creampied by every good team they played

Hell even Brian Hoyer had the Browns with a winning record late in one season and was serviceable with the texans.

Did belichicks ghost take his system to all these places? and what system? Belichick is a DC by trade and has never coached offense.

Is Wentz a system baby cause Foles won the SB and nearly got the NFC title game in the 2nd year? Is Brees a system baby cause Bridgewater was stellar in 2019? How about Big Ben? The steelers went 8-6 with Hodges and Rudolph
