Nick Faldo's scorecard looks like an OT'ers score card would look.
OP...edit the subject to add (OT golfer +11)

I think it depends on when I would play. I'm a 5 handicap and I believe I could have shot very well if I played there this morning. This afternoon....... not so much.

Shut your whore mouth.

Define very well. Some of the best in the world didn't break even par in the morning.

I obviously don't think I could break par there, but hovering around my handicap would be a possibility if I am putting well.

so ... if you putted well, you could shoot around a 77ish on the same course the professionals are playing? ...
but of course you could! ...

I've already told you dudes on here that I will gladly play a round with you all to prove it.

$100 says you couldn't break 85.

I think I've come to the conclusion that this course and tourney are my least favorite of the majors and maybe even a few other big ones. Still like it a lot and will be up at 4am again to watch, but it just isn't doing it for me like some of the others.

Y'all don't even know this guy. How do y'all know he couldn't do it?

It's possible. I shot 78 at the colonial a week before the tourney about ten years ago when I was playing off a 2 handicap.

1. Major Championship crowd
2. Never played the course
3. Pot bunkers
4. The Road Hole

Nice. Would you have shot a 78 in a PGA tournament setting? TV cameras all over the place. Walking from the practice area to the first tee through the ropes with people lined up checking you out? Walking onto first tee, being announced, and hundreds of people lining the tee area? Dozens of spectators around the greens you are hitting approach shots into? What if you were paired with a top 10 golfer and the crowds following your group were very large? Rules officials following you around. The parting of the spectator seas when your shot lands 25ft off the short grass. That 78 you shot on a tournament ready course would balloon into a 95 or worse under those circumstances. Don't kid yourself.

Exactly. It's not rocket science. I'm playing my best golf right now on top of everything else. 3 straight rounds at my home course under par this past week. My handicap is actually lower than 5, just waiting for that to post and update. If I keep that up for another month, I am going to take a shot at the US Mid Am qualifying in September.

That's hard to say. Most likely not, considering I've never played competitive golf post HS; it definitely wouldn't be that big a swing. But I was an athlete in college so I'm used to big crowds and cameras. Plus playing with people better than you makes you focus and concentrate on every shot.

He's a 5 handicap so that would be in the 76-79 range depending on the course. Unless of course he sandbags the cap and is really scratch.

Day 1 surprises Retief Goosen(ranked 209), Paul Lawrie (ranked 346) both -6, Stewart Cink (ranked 240) -2, John Daly -1 and Sandy Lyle -1

Just saw Spieths interview after the round... He was very pleased with how he played in his 1st round ever here. And seems very confident.
Spieth got it.

Do you guys see any of them shooting in the red tomorrow considering the wind conditions?
