Phil is due
He WILL NOT win on this course. that is a LOCK!!!!!!!!!!

Can Rory McIlroy make it two in a row?
No.
This is a strong possiblity. He may not win but WILL finish in the top 5.
My darkhorse is Jason Day.

THIS. With Mcdowell and Mcilroy my other 2 picks.

I think Mcilroy is tghe man to beat here. He has a taste of winning big now and that is out of the way now for him to dominate.
I think Rory wins but that is hardly a brave preiction. If I had to pick three contenders I pick Cabrera, Kuchar and Choi. I love KJs short game and creativity around the greens. Anbd he is a grinder

Homer Pick: Ernie
Realistic Pick: Rory
Glad they play together the first two days though

Choi's a high ball hitter and doesn't bomb it so don't see him doing too well this week. Could see Kuchar playing well though. British is always a crapshoot though. Guess we'll see if we get another Louis Oosthuizen.

If Rory wins this one, then I will definitely be on the "Rory will win double digit majors" bandwagon. He hasn't played a single tournament since the US Open. He has flown all over the world doing publicity stops, I even saw him sitting down for an interview on CNN. If he can do all that, drop the golf for a few weeks, and then pick right back up where he left of... look out!

I think he'll win it. But yeah, top 5 is almost a safe bet imo.

How is Jason Day considered a dark horse anymore?

I guess you have a point but how many people are talking about him having a chance????

my fantasy yahoo league shows %24 of every league picking him and %21 picking mcilroy
i wouldnt have guessed that but apparantly a good bit of people are picking him. i think hes had a top 5 finish in 3 majors in a row now.

Day is no dark horse. One of the top golfers in the world and possibly the second most talented "young" golfer on the planet outside of Rory.

Agreed. You don't finish 2nd in the first 2 majors of the year and call yourself a darkhorse.

Royal St. George's is a course that only a proven major winner can win at. I'm going with Ben Curtis.
Posted on 7/12/11 at 1:55 pm to Choupique19
bold statement. Curtis has been invisible lately

A guy with two consecutive runner-up finishes in 2011 Majors cannot be a darkhorse pick

Well he isn't that dark, out of 30 picks over 10% have them,
