This really sucks, but the IOC is about money. When you make every thing about profits, things like this will happen.

I have no idea about these other Olympic sports but shite like speed walking and modern pentathalon don't make money either yet remain Olympic sports

It's hard to imagine modern pentathalon gets better ratings than wrestling

You'd think that badminton would be the sport to go.

Only 10 countries have ever medaled in it, with China, South Korea, and Indonesia each having more medals than the other seven countries combined.

On top of that, they had that huge scandal last time around where players were throwing matches for seeding purposes that resulted in 8 DQs.

That should have been enough to kill it as an officially sanctioned sport.

True, but the athletes who compete in it are filthy rich. Which is why equestrian and its related events will never get cut. Those athletes will keep the money pouring in.
