NFL.com confirms the Broncos have a "multi-year offer" to free agent Wes Welker.
Now we wait. The fact that Welker hasn't already signed indicates some trepidation, or a counter-offer on the part of the Patriots. Either way, there should be a resolution by this evening. Talks rarely drag out in the NFL the way they do in Major League Baseball.

Dov Kleiman ?@NFL_RealUpdates #Patriots have offered WR Wes Welker a 4-year, $32 million deal while the #Broncos are offering Welker a 4-year, $35 million deal.

Thats more than i thought the Pats were offering.
Pioli made the point that the difference could be negligible after moving costs and post career payments but the agent doesnt care about that because he doesnt get a cut ofthat
ETA who is that guy though? Never heard of him and theres been a lot of dummy account floating around

Well, now this tweet:
quote:This one makes it sound like Wes Welker will be Denver bound unless the NE Pats match the offer or offer more. Every tweet has said that we should know what happens by tonight, so there's that.
Dov Kleiman ?@NFL_RealUpdates Wes Welker now took the #Broncos 4-year, $35 million offer to the #Patriots to see if they will up their 4-year, $32 million offer and match

Well if it's only $3, might as well stay put in NE. Four years is a lot for Welker though. I think he has two good years left, not four

I still don't believe Amendola ends up in NE.... mainly because other teams will offer more money. I think NE will have to do it through the draft where they don't have the best history of developing wide receivers...

Roto world reported the camp of Amendola was complaining that slot receivers were getting screwed in the market so he wont be getting that pricey
Same guy that broke the Welker news has also reported Amendola is their plan B to welker
