Way too streaky with the bat and Ks too much. Garnder doesn't have the best bat either but Gardner had a good spring and started out the season nicely. Gardner gives you good speed and discipline on the bags and is a decent fielder. The switch would provide minimal benefit at this point if any.

Or he could have struck out, walked, gotten hit, tripled, smoked a blunt with Percy Harvin. He could've done a lot of things. Fact is, he didn't.

The thing about Gardner is, they said so much about his "speed" and how much of an asset he is on the basepath. But when he does get on base, do they call for him to steal? Nope.

Didn't he [Gardner] lead AAA with like 37 steals last year?

No doubt the guy is good but he just came up to triple-a ball this year. When Nady returns he will have one spot locked up and Damon probably will in LF too. That gives you Cabrera and Gardner in CF. Cabrera is playing too well right now to take him out which leaves you with Gardner. Gardner is doing fine and I don't think Ajax would be that big of an upgrade. No reason to call him up yet only to be sent back down. HE probably wouldn't be getting much PT with the other guys there and being young it can't hurt him to see as much action as possible...which he would do in Scranton.

I know he was around 35-40 and yeah I'm pretty sure he did lead. Girardi seemed to like stealing last year at times but this year he hasn't tried much at all. We're 19/21 stealing this year...it isn't like we can't do it.

I would like to see what AJax can do.

I'm not too good with putting together lineups, but if you had AJax leading off, followed by any combination of Jeter/Damon/A-Rod/Tex/Matsui/Swisher/Cano/Molina.. and that is a HELL of a lineup if AJax could get on base and become a Ellsbury type of player.

and I don't think canning Girardi is the solution

get A-Rod back and Wang and play the season instead of trying to blame somebody..

and why Girardi why not Dave Eiland

blow up the roster. Trade jeter for whatever you can get for him. Probably beans since hes an old man. Maybe they can send A-roid else where too. Go Many acta on the bullpen and demote that bum CC Sabathia to AA.

With Swish, Melky, Nady, Damon, Gardner, and Ajax we'd have 6 OF on the roster. The only way Ajax would get any good playing time would be injury to 2 of the above. PLUS to start he would have to beat out Melky. If he was head and shoulders above Gardner I could understand it but right now I think the difference is minimal. Let him stay in the minors and get his ABs and be on the field as much as possible.

Any of you Yankee fans like the move of Jeter batting first in the lineup?

No it isn't, firing midseason rarely, if ever, works. I didn't like the Girardi hire from the get go though.

Been saying this from the start too. The only reason they kept him on staff was his familiarity with the young guys. What has he done? Hughes is coming back into form but Eiland fricked with his mechanics last year and you see what happened there. Kennedy?

i havent taken a dump yet so it is still inside

i think one thing that is HIGHLY UNDERRATED with the yanks right now is that they did spend their FA money on pitching this year, and their park is a fricking NIGHTMARE for pitching.

had they known this, they could have gone out and gotten some mid level pitchers and loaded up on bats.

cc and burnett are not worth the paper i will use to wipe my arse tomorrow morning from my mexican food tonight in that park

conveniently enough, i own both of them in tdbl

no, Damon is more of what I think a leadoff hitter should be (has speed and has more walks the last 3 years than Jeter). If Gardner can develop into a consitent hitter, I would like him at the leadoff spot
