I'm all for it but who do you get rid of? Nobody is taking Damon's deal, Swish is too valuable right now to lose, Nady is hurt and depending on what you believe it could be pretty bad, I DOUBT they get rid of Melky just because he's young and he's OF and maybe he is finally playing to his potential. Gardner wouldn't pull in much and no way in hell they let Ajax go.

Any of you Yankee fans like the move of Jeter batting first in the lineup?

Yeah. I would like it a little more though if Jeter could steal bases more often.

is he still lead off?

Yes sir.

Isn't Damon in his final year of his contract? That might make it easier to trade him

He's still leading the team (tied with Gardner for 6). Girardi needs to steal more.

I guess Jeter hitting leadoff is ok...he has been hitting into double plays more and more the past few years though so I guess you don't want him 2 hole.

Considering the Yankees can't manufacture runs, I don't think A-rod will help that much. And Wang, if he can recover, will help the pitching but the problem still remains in the bullpen

My problem isn't with the record. It is how since Girardi has been here they have been totally complacent. Watching him and players interviews gets annoying when they say "well it was a bad game but its just another game" that attitude gets you nowhere.

We're top 5 in runs scored, top 10 in OBP, BA, and RBI. A-Rod will help those numbers but more than anything it removes the black hole in our lineup the 3B guys have. Plus defensively we definitely get an upgrade.

It's really too bad Posada went to the DL.

You go from having 2 almost guaranteed outs in Pena/Ransom/Berroa and Molina, to more than likely .300 hitters in A-Rod and Posada and it's going to make a HELL of a difference.

Not ONE of the home runs that have been hit by the Yankees have been by a 3rd baseman. With A-Rod in that lineup, that's AT LEAST 5 home runs by now, at least.
