Yeah but at the same time we have a few guys in the lineup doing nothing, no doubt Alex will help that. I heard how many players the 3B have left on base the other day, it was pretty rough.

That's the word for now. Also heard they might not play him much at first, understandable, and keeping Berroa up for the IF utility.

Not to mention that Ransom/Berroa/Pena have a combined 10 RBI's.

Pena; 4. Ransom; 6.

Hell, take Berroa out of that equation and Yankees 3rd basemen still have a total of 10 RBI's.

Oh, and Pena's 4 RBI's all came within the past 5 games. Just FYI.

I'm pretty sure A-Rod would've had at least 4 RBI's in the first week.

Yeah when you look at the offensive numbers we are actually pretty high up in every category. That is with Tex struggling, Gardner not doing a ton, and the shitstorm at 3rd.

I understand what everyone is saying, but the Yankees are still relying to much on the HR to score runs. I don't think they are built to win very many homerless games

I lol'd. That's the best description of our 3rd base play that I've heard so far.

They definitely are living off the HR right now but a lot of that is because they have to. We have several guys that are just guaranteed outs right now.

I don't see why guys like Jeter/Damon/Cano/Cabrera/Gardner/Molina can't play small ball. Every one of them besides Molina, and maybe Cabrera at times should be legit base stealers.

Molina would just have to bunt guys over and he'd be more productive than he is now.

If they showed that they could manufacture runs (by steals, sacrifices, going from first to third, etc.) I would be more excited about A-rod coming back

In the end, winning solves everything. To be at 13-13 without arguably our best player, and one of our best pitchers, is not too bad I suppose. It could definatly be better though.

I mean, Jonathan Alabaladejo is tied for most wins on our pitching staff with 2. That will surely change.

My problem isn't with the record. It is how since Girardi has been here they have been totally complacent. Watching him and players interviews gets annoying when they say "well it was a bad game but its just another game" that attitude gets you nowhere.
Same here. In just the last couple of years...

2008 = April (14-15)/May (14/12)
2007 = April (9-14) /May (13-15)

Yankees tend to be a second half team anyway, but that laid back attitude can lead to far worse things than just losing games. You don't want a player to overreact over every loss but to say that it doesn't bother you bothers me.

But just like basketball it's a very long season and there's certainly plenty of games left and hopefully this team will get right, get healthy and start clicking.

Why don't they just liquidate the whole team.

Is that you George?

Damon went deep earlier in the game, and has been swinging a hot stick.

Berroa is one of the worst former ROYs and ARod can't come soon enough.

This team has too many AAAA ballplayers on it. Too many guys that aren't quite ready for the bigs, but aren't nesc. Triple A. Need to improve the pen/bench somehow.

Yankees have lost games this year in ugly fashion. They’ve had losses when they’ve allowed 10 (twice), 15, 22 and 16 runs. Their losses are hideous.

Cashman needs to be fired, not Girardi.

His average has been dropping the last 10 games and you still can't expect him to homer again though. You gotta play the odds.

I dunno, I don't think Girardi should have been the guy from the get go. I really have no idea where to stand on Cashman, the farm is better than it has been in a while right now and SO many of the shitty moves the Yankees make are because it is what Steinbrenner wants.

The Yankees deserve every bit of Joe Girardi that they get.
