Funny story. I was eating lunch in an open setting and these two young guys (one was probably 20, the other maybe 24) were sitting 2-3 seats down from me. The older looking one starting saying how he hates watching basketball because it's an easy sport. The younger one says that he finds it pretty hard and isn't very good at it. The older one then compares it to beer pong:
Older guy: "Are you good at beer pong?"
Younger guy: "Yes"
OG: "Then you can be good at basketball. All they do is put a ball through a hoop."
YG: "But a basket ball is much bigger and heavier, the hoop is relatively smaller than a cup is to a ping pong ball"
OG: "The ball isn't that heavy, it's light. If you were able to practice getting good at ping pong, you can get good at basketball. Every other sport is much harder"
I looked at the younger kid, shook my head and laughed.

The best athletes in the world play in the NBA. This point is not up for debate.
Uh, yes it is. Have you ever watched NBA players do almost anything athletic besides basketball? It's comical. Have you watched NBA players fight? a bunch of uncoordinated slapping. Or try to throw a baseball? Carl Lewis thinks they look silly. Golfing is an absolute scream.

NBA players probably are the best athletes in general. Probably the most impressive blend of size, speed, strength , agility and coordination. But it's all wasted on basketball so who cares.

That is the truth. I can't remember the last time I sat down and watched a Thanksgiving game that didn't feature the Saints, but I almost never miss at least one of the NBA Christmas games.
