The Mike Vick Myth that he is a good QB

With 2 games left in the NFL season you can look at QB ratings and get a good idea of how a QB plays.
What does Tim Tebow, Cam Newton, and Mark Sanchez all have in common? Their rating is better than Mike Vick.
As well as Kevin Kolb, Andy Dalton, Matt Hasselback, and Ryan Fitzpatrick. (all in order by the way)
He is the 21st rated QB in the NFL. And before anyone says he is having a bad year, its better than his career rating of 80.2. He is at 80.6.

He also has an absolutely terrible offensive line. All the skill players in the world can't make up for that.

hes not as bad as he is playing this year, they have had a lot of injuries
on the other hand, he is not as good as he was last year.

It's not that he's bad. He's just overhyped after last season. Plus his O-line sucks, and his top WR doesn't give a shite.

Clearly the NFL does want Vick to have a good rating. I was shocked when I saw Tebow, Cam, and Mark Sanchez with better ratings.
All you hear is how Tebow can't play QB in the NFL, yet he is having a better year than Vick. You would never know that listening to the talking heads on TV.

There's more to evaluating a QB than rating, and no one in their right mind would take Tebow over Vick.

Using QB rating as the only metric seems a bit hasty. The QB rating doesn't include any of the plays that Vick makes with his feet.
As a thrower, yeah Vick isn't that great, but when you combine that with his running ability he does become a good QB (note good not great)

Based on the ESPN Total QB Rating you are correct. He is tied with Jason Campbell at #13, just ahead of Cam Newton.
