Also funny: Three straight years, the first overall pick was a black guy with a stereotypically white preppy name.

Aaron Glenn and Kellen Moore, you're on the clock

Which means Aaron Glenn's days are numbered, because there's no way that Kellen Moore gets fired in year two.

+1 I couldn't believe Chicago kept Eberflus last year

The bigger mistake was bringing in Waldron to develop a QB.

Bingo. I am always surprised when a team gets the number one pick and doesn’t fire their head coach if he has been there for more than 1 season.

And we’re wondering why these guys are getting better in their mid to late 20s in good organizations

I have no idea if Ward will be good or not and neither do you.

Turns out coaching and development matters. Having weapons also helps

The only recent #1 overall to still have same head coach is Joe Burrow with Zac Taylor.

Kyler Murray about to be on his 3rd head coach.

Baker Mayfield on 4th team - Hue Jackson fired in Baker's rookie season

Jared Goff - Jeff Fisher fired in Goff's rookie season

Jameis Winston - Lovie Smith fired after Jameis' rookie season

Might be the dumbest pick of all. I don't care what he did in college; he was going to be a project/gimmick in the NFL. And then he had an HC who was very average in college. So let's make him a pro coach.

Any particular reason you’re caping up for this guy? Are you a Hurricane fan or something?

Seems like if you have the number one pick, just cut to the chase - fire your head coach, hire a new coach, and draft a QB. I guess hindsight is 20/20.

Not capping (whatever that means) for anyone. I’m just stating the fact that no one knows how his NFL career will turn out, least of all a broken clock like you. He’s 23 and played all of 6 games on a bad team that just fired their coach and has zero legit weapons see Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield as examples

You’re very emotional and angry. What attributes does he have that would warrant him being a #1 overall pick? Who would you compare him too?

Btw it’s caping not capping as in to wear a cape for like a hero defending something.

Staggering them gives the GM more runway/excuses

wut? You just have canned responses don’t you? Or as usual describing yourself given your screen name

quote:

What attributes does he have that would warrant him being a #1 overall pick

There’s a #1 pick every year, some are better than others it depends on the year. It is not some intrinsic universal standard.

All I said was it’s too early to declare him a bust, he might be or he might be good we don’t know. How you interpret that was defending or capping or caping says a lot about your mindset
