Of course I never saw Sabonis in Europe, but I recall that he was already past his prime by the time he came to America. He was a 7 footer who could shoot and pass.

Wish they would’ve delved more into details or behind the scenes on his comeback - no interviews about it really other than the baseball strike narrative and Bj Armstrong pancake breakfast... then all of sudden his agent is drafting a press release on his return

Is “way to go, Craig” the most underrated quote of the series?

Was past his prize and had two god awful knees that sapped the rest of what athleticism he had left

Watching these episodes had me wondering if Jordan was present for his jersey retirement in 1994.
Found this on YouTube
It’s 2 hours long but is a great Ahmad Rashad interview with Jordan along with interactions with Dean Smith, Bobby Knight, Chuck Daly, Phil Jackson and many players. Including an old school comedy set from Sinbad and an appearance by the SNL ‘Da Bears/Bulls’ guys. Not to mention some sick Jordan highlights.
Totally worth a watch.

It's so funny to me that people say these Bulls teams would shite on the Warriors with Durant, but then forget this Pacer team took them to 7 and probably should have won.
I think people mean the 96 team, not 98

Scottie Pippen is one of my favorite players of all time. More than Jordan. I’ve said that here at least 50 times over the years. I don’t think that he’s getting shite on at all. It’s MJ heavy because he’s the greatest player of all time and that’s backed by Scotty and all of his teammates. People who knew nothing of the Bulls before watching this, assuming they’ve watched all 8 episodes, should come away knowing Scottie was the 2nd most important piece to 6 ships and deserved more $$ and more credit.
And for the record BJ Armstrong has had maybe 15 total minutes dedicated to him so far

And Omg bj Armstrong has more interview vignettes than him too? It's almost like has a shitty personality and nothing to say. This needs to be more net positive for him. He made the NBA 50 greatest but I read on Twitter that he's underrated. He needs more "run" from this.
I don't have an opinion on the BJ Armstrong air time, I'm strictly talking about Scottie's narrative this series. SVP notices it too, hence my original comment.

The 95 Bulls team was barely over .500 when MJ cane back. I think that was the carry over from Pippen’s antics the previous playoff season. Pippen was the leader now that Jordan was gone and everyone liked Pippen. Then he sat out the last play in a playoff game and the team fell apart the next season. I think they are related.

There's really no fair way to compare it.
It's two different games being played. Some of those games form this doc have been like 78-74, and it's not as simple as there being more talent in the 2010's than the 90's.
People on both sides of this debate are being intellectually dishonest with themselves when they try and make a head-to-head point to bolster their argument.

Pippen refusing to go in the game came the first non-Jordan year when the Bulls won 55 games.

and thats a very fair point. its difficult to compare teams across the decades and eras because, well, they are all products of when they played. but its hard not to side with the warriors in this, admittingly, pointless and arbitrary discussion

that first year without Jordan was a carry over. They were looser but still had some of the ghost of Jordan and how they did things. Get into year 2 and it is more in to how Pippen led.
I think Pippen pinking our on the last shot did have some carry over in how leadership of the team would be.

Yes, and there was a huge fracture in the team over it. They lost that series (which was likely going to happen anyway), but fell off greatly the next season until Jordan came back for the last 20% of the year.

The main thing was Horace Grant leaving. Will Perdue started 78 games for that team, Larry Krystkowiak getting 14 starts, Corie Blount getting nine and Dickey Simpkins getting five. They were getting absolutely destroyed in the post

Sure, because no team in the 90's was averaging more than 5 three point attempts per game, let alone a quarter like they are now. But no team was playing defense in the 2010's like they were playing in the 90's.
It goes both ways.
