The GOAT Pitino and St. John’s should be a 1 seed

1 seeds should be Auburn, winner of UF-Tenn, Duke, and St. John’s; and St. John’s is absolutely deserving of this honor. They have compiled the second best record in basketball at 30-4 and ran the Big East gauntlet, capturing the outright Big East regular season championship and tournament championship. No disrespect to Houston, but the Little 12 is dog water. In fairness so is the ACC, but Duke has earned their spot as a 1 seed with the best record in basketball, regular season and (TBD) tournament championships, and the best player in college basketball.

They are really good. I would not have a problem with them as a #1. But the committee won’t take the 1seed from Houston.

Now do the Big East. St. John’s is projected as a 2/3 seed. The other three teams that are locks are all projected as 7-9 seeds. Xavier is a bubble team that will be in the first four if they are selected. The Big East has been bad this year.

He’s done a great job with them. But they aren’t a 1, and may be a candidate for a Sweet Sixteen exit. Great defense. Best in the nation. But they aren’t bad (for a high major tournament team) offensively.

I've been a Johnnies fan since 1984, and I'll say we deserve a 2 seed not a 1. This year has been fun. Reminds me of the Redmen of my youth that made me a fan.
