Top 10 in both wins and win percentage.

I didn't downvote you on the previous page.

I disagree. I think they're a step down from Bama, SC, ND, OU, and Ohio State.
Why would they be a step down from USC?

Maybe you're right. Tejas has a lot of wins against winning programs, unlike OU with K-State and Kansas and Tennessee with Vandy and Kentucky.

I don't think they played a murderer's row for much of their history
This is true and a big part of the reason why despite being undefeated they really weren't considered for the 1969 title.

USC has 11 claimed and 6 unclaimed national titles. Texas doesn't approach those numbers at all. USC also has (or still recently had) the most first round draft picks as well as the most draft picks. Add in all the conference titles, All-Americans and Heisman winners and the gap widens. USC has 36 conference championships to Texas' 32.

They've never been in the same conference and everything else you listed is mythical.

You need to get this mythical shite out of your mind else you don't believe there were any championships won before the advent of the BCS. So go ahead with your football started in 1998 crap.

You can get mad if you want but that's a fact. Bama went from 6 "titles" in 1983 to 11 in 1984.

Strawman. Calm down.

It’s not entirely wrong though. A lot of the pre-BCS titles are fugazi if you dig into them. For a lot of teams too.

They're below Bama, SC, ND, OU, and Ohio State in:
- Weeks in the AP poll
- Weeks at #1
- Final rankings in the AP poll
- Claimed national championships
- AP national championships
- Conference championships (ND is inapplicable here)
- NFL draft picks
- First round draft picks
- Heisman Trophy winners
They're below 3/5 in total wins. They have 2 more wins than OU despite playing 34 more games (OU's winning percentage is .725 and Tejas's is .701). They've also played 75 more games than SC.
They're below 4/5 in total wins and winning percentage. They beat SC on this point .701 to .696
I'm not saying Tejas is a scrub program. I'm just saying they're just a step below Bama, SC, ND, OU, and Ohio State.

I'm not mad. That's just the criteria by which things were judged. We all know about Alabama's titles that aren't titles (Notre Dame beat them on the field in the 1973 Sugar Bowl) and USC's "unclaimed" titles.

There are some asinine claims. There are also some legitimate ones.

Every single one before the BCS was voted on. That's a fact. Even after we beat FSU in the Sugar Bowl 52-20 the only trophy we celebrated with on the field that night was the Sugar Bowl trophy.

Everything you listed is mythical. They've never been in the same conference as Bama/SC/ND/Ohio State and have only been in the same conference as OU since 1996. All-time means all-time.

I think the word you're looking for is subjective, not mythical.
Posted on 1/27/23 at 2:03 pm to Tornado Alley
If it's voted on, it's mythical.

Good thing I listed some things that aren't.
