These three teams are still relevant. Are they dominant? No. But certainly still relevant.

OU holds the lead over the last 75 games, 39-35-3.

Which has nothing to do with the fact that national titles were mythical until the BCS.

Which has nothing to do with the fact that BAMA has elevated and separated itself in football as the Gold Standard since the 1920s.

Whatever the rules of engagement, thems the rules.

No surprise a Bama fan thinks mythical polls matter more than what actually happens on the field.

Bama has the on-the-field record to back it up too.

And we lead UGA 40-34-1 over the past 75 games, what's your point? All-time means all-time.

So you finally agree that natties were mythical before the BCS. Thanks.

They certainly do. He was claiming that natties aren't mythical though and we should all recognize Bama's 1941 claim because some newspaper gave them a trophy.

College football has always been a beauty contest. And when the last 4 teams were selected for this year's playoff, it was still a beauty contest.

But then, thems the rules.

LSU fans on this website live in a "what have you done for me lately" world.

OU made the playoffs in 2019, the last year LSU did. Notre Dame has made the playoffs more recently than LSU. SC finished ranked higher than LSU this season.

Is that not relevance?

No one has argued against Bama's blue blood status.

Let it go.

I think a big reason for OU's inclusion as a "blue blood" is their consistent, high level success since Bud Wilkinson. Outside of "wander through the desert" in the 1990s, they've been at or near the top of college football for 70 seasons.

The dude is going full strawmen just because people don't recognize their 1941 claim.

Oh, well that's ridiculous.

Bama has enough real championships to where they can ignore that one.

I never said they weren't a blue blood.

That's true.

I assumed you were claiming Tejas should be included as a blue blood based on that fact.

That was the old divisional setup before they realigned.

And 12-0 Ohio Stat couldn't play in the CCG.

Where do you put Penn State in the pantheon of all-time great programs?

I don't think they played a murderer's row for much of their history, and that's reflected in their poll rankings (they have gone undefeated 12 times and claim just two titles).

But the wins and achievements are there.

I disagree. I think they're a step down from Bama, SC, ND, OU, and Ohio State.
