What a retarded thread. No shite the Clippers are going to lose endorsements. They will probably also lose the ability to sign big name free agents in the short term (why would players go play for them?). They will probably lose some fans as well. Does this surprise you?

Like these companies didn't know he was a huge racist pos before this happened or something.

This has absolutely nothing to do with anything.

It's all about making money. Clippers as a hot commodity = good for business. Clippers as a controversial entity that ostracizes people = bad for business

Highly doubtful, this will be forgotten about within a week, although that girl should get in trouble for illegally recording a conversation.

I'm glad state farm dropped their sponsorship, cause I was gonna cancel my car policy if they didn't no matter what the cost.

That's retarded. The public has a 24 hour memory. Once the next story breaks this will blow over and the sponsors and money will eventually come back.

Doubtful that this will be forgotten in a week. I think it would certainly be in consideration for the next couple seasons for a free agent. Unless of course he is forced out by the other owners.

Companies advertise for a reason.

They aren't taking a moral/ethical stance.

Probably so, but the sponsors can probably negotiate a better deal due to the controversy. It's a wise move IMO

No shite. I said short term. Did you really not expect them to lose sponsors in the short term? If you didn't you must be a complete moron. Just like Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong didn't lose sponsorships...

So you think this will have no short term effect on the Clippers organization as long as he is the owner?

Signing players? I doubt it. Money always talks

These players had to have known Sterling was a racist before they signed there. If they didn't, they are idiots for not doing any research on their employers. I just don't think they cared that he was a racist and now this "outrage" is over dramatric.

Doc wanted to coach a team in position to contend, and not a team in rebuilding mode. I figured he would retire after 2013. As for CP3, was he not part of a Laker trade that got nixed by Stern?

You're missing the point that he's always been associated with racial bigotry. And these companies gave him money. Oh but now we're going to bail out.

The NAACP was going to give him his 2nd lifetime achievement award in two weeks.

I agree, but I think that a free agent would still consider this when making a decision to sign with the Clippers for 5/125M or the Lakers for 5/117M. Maybe not 100% of them, but I can almost assure you there are some that would.

Hell that douchebag Jalen Rose said he would have told his teammates that he couldn't play in the game the other night.

Correct.

A lot of players don't even know who the hell the owner even is. But this is going to be a huge media circus and it will bring major attention to him now. Like I said, will it have an impact on 100% of free agents? Hell no. Riley Cooper would love to play for an owner like him. But there are certainly some players out there that would think about this now that the media has turned it into what they have.

He was traded there yes, but he had an opportunity to become a FA and chose to re-sign.
