I'd appreciate it if you changed your sig quote. Every time you post, I get a reminder of how bad we suck this year.

Consider it done. At least it looks like baseball will be better.

He'll get them close, and then 4 or 5 guys will mysteriously "leave the team."

In half the time, he went to the SECCG and a BCS. That's better than winning the Cotton Bowl.

Most feel the same way you guys do about Brady, but both are retarded. I don't have a problem with firing Gottfried, but he did some good things at Bama. Gottfried to Bama to it's first ever elite 8.

Most sensible LSU basketball fans would say the same about Brady

which is pretty damn good for an average Basketball program, only one worse than what Brady did with LSU. I think more people just don't like Brady because of the players who left the program because of Brady and the way he didn't sell the program.

well, that was predictable. Sadly, I remember how excited those people were to get a "Final Four coach".
unless the first black person ever to play basketball at arkansas state can hand deliver four kids from the local AAU less than three miles from brady's door step for him .. they are pretty much fricked ..

Watching the LSU/UF 2001 game yesterday, I was reminded of what an embarassment Brady was as a person to the program.
The announcers asked Brady how he was before the game, and he said something "that can't be repeated over the air."
Then, he blew a big lead with terrible game management, all the while falling on the floor in the fetal position and crawling on all fours in the last minute, then blatantly cursing and ripping players for minor mistakes when he can't manage a damn game.
His graduation rate was an embarassment, his antics were despicable, and he had 3 good seasons of his 11 or 12 here. I commend him for allowing Collis Temple to bring in talent, but other than that, I have nothing good to say or think about the guy.

if memory serves on that game ... weren't we at the FT line in regulation with a 1-point lead with like :01.3 left and instead of doing the smart thing and ordering the free throw missed, we made the shot, then gave florida a clean, undefended inbound look for the baseball pass and then tying shot ?? why don't you intentionally miss that shot .. virtually no way florida gets their hands on the ball, turns and gets a 75 footer off to win the game ..

Maybe I should get on the Ark St message board and get the Brady Basher train rolling in Jonesboro......
As an original Brady Basher, isn't it nice to have a real coach that can win the close games......

I couldn't have said it better myself. These two quotes pretty much sum up the John Brady era at LSU. The Villanova game last year was another great example of how a Brady meltdown had a very negative impact on the team and eventually led to an improbable collapse.

trent johnson is a breath of fresh air .. i think we do need to have a little fun on the ASU board in light of the fact that brady has already made jokes about LSU still paying him and taking credit for trent johnson's success ..

The best thing about Johnson is that he is about the right stuff.
Brady was never about the right stuff, but Johnson is all about graduating players, disciplining without running players off (see how he handled Martin), and staying out of trouble, all the while putting an enjoyable product on the floor.
Brady never understood that character off the floor becomes character on the floor. He had little character and demanded none out of his players, and cared more about his own neck than the players that played for him.

I always heard that Butch Pierre was our best recruiter - not for bringing in players from high school, but for talking players into coming back after numerous ones quit the team or flat walked out of practice because they had enough of Brady.
I lost any remaining support of Brady years back when we were up by 40+ points vs. Nicholls and he refused to put walk-ons in the game. These guys give sweat and blood in practice. Brady could at least throw them a bone in a blowout win. I think Josh Maravich commented on this in his mom's book too?

I'm not quite sure if you remember that season well but we "blew" plenty of leads that season in the last 10 minutes due in large part that we were playing with 5 scholarship players. If we went to the bench it was for amazing talents like Charlie Thompson and Brian Wilson. Remember Brad Bridgwater and Lamont Roland were out for the season and Stromile left early the year before.

there were actually a couple of seconds left. Rarely do people intentionally miss the FT, it may be the right thing to do, i just don't see it happen much. Anyway Brian Wilson just banked the 1st FT in so I'm not sure how good he would have been at intentionally missing the FT while still hitting the rim. Besides UF didn't get a clean shot off, Brian Wilson fouled on the inbound pass.
