It's pretty damn difficult to play a 6 hour long round of golf.

Jim Furyk disagrees.

3 players on a team. 2 teams on each hole. Other team keeps the score. Has anybody played

I played in a five person scramble once with two teams on a hole. The round lasted six hours. It was painful. We didn't even drink as it was a big buck Calcutta tournament.

Always gets out of hand when mulligans are for sale or I've seen some where you can throw the ball and it not count as a stroke...those always seem to get replicated 10x over because everyone "bought" more of them or if they didn't use the mulligan shot, then it never counted.

Also always amazing how much further away the closest to the pin hole is when there is a spotter looking over the green

One last month was each person could buy an actual mulligan, a throw, and a kick.

I played in a four person scramble once and was the worst golfer on my team with a 9 handicap. One guy on my team was a former D2 golfer with a 1 handicap. Another guy was in college at the time and made D2 nationals. We shot -15 from the tips. We lost to a team whose best golfer is worse than me. When they were questioned, the answer they gave was "We just got really lucky and chipped in for birdie or eagle on about four holes."

Nothing stops cheating in scrambles

Somebody is cheating in that SCO tournament the last 2 years, both years we shot -15 and the pro shop confirms we are low score and I never hear a word from the tournament director.

My dad did get closest to the hole last year and won a smoker.

Now you would think that no team would be dumb enough to claim that they shot a lower score in the fricking dark, but every year 2-3 teams do. And it's usually the teams that are so drunk they can barely drive their carts.

I always score better in the dark. Always!!! I think because I spray my drives and with the glow balls, less distance equals less margin for error. My irons and putting are just as good at night. Plus they move up the tee box, so you can drive a lot of the greens. I can putt night or day.

We had one where you could tee off with a baseball bat and then hit your tee shot from there. My longest, straightest drive of the day was with that damn bat. I've since been trying to dream up a PGA conforming driver I can use like a bat.
