I did like Prado though...

I figured he might start over Francisco.
With Francisco playing well this winter, I think a Francisco/Johnson platoon could be very solid

Me too. However, the more I thought about it Martin is perfectly tailored as #2 hitter IF you have a legit leadoff guy. While J Upton might be that guy, he's not Michael Bourn when he's on. It's no coincidence our offense suffered as Bourn struggled down the stretch (for the second year in a row). Martin's value at the plate decreased along with Bourn's lack of production

I haven't kept up with it. Francisco looking good?
But yeah, a platoon at third is likely. Both are solid players. IDK about Johnson's defense but his numbers suggest he's solid at the plate. I like the squad we have now.

We wouldnt have been able to keep him after this year though.
However, the Nationals just shat their pants because we will be better than them for 3 years.

I am by no means a sports mastermind, but have a ton of confidence in the Braves FO.
I have to say that having two brothers in the outfield is pretty awesome. Has this happened before?

Nope. He probably wanted something like 10-12 per, and we couldn't have afforded that.

Didn't the Giambi bros play for Oakland? I remember Griffey Sr. and Jr. played on Seattle at the same time.I wonder if they've ever been acquired by the same team in the same offseason though?
Did the Canseco bros play for the same team?

All 3 Alou brothers (Matty,Felipe and Jesus) played in the same outfield for the 1963 SF Giants.

Kid was in the top 5 of most fantasy drafts last year, but he underperformed.
This is the year he explodes.

When Uggla needs a day off, do we play BJ at 2nd? BJ has played 48 games at 2nd in his career.

Now that the 2013 roster is pretty much set, let's talk about 2014.
Outfield, 1B, 2B, SS are set. Decisions to make at 3B and C. If I had I guess, I think Braves will let McCann walk or make him a qualifying offer, which he might accept. Lets assume McCann stays.
Hudson and Maholm will be free agents, and Maholm won't be back. Hudson is 50/50 at this point, depending on how he pitches in 2013 and how the young guys do around him. My guess is Braves decide to sign Hudson to a one or two year deal. 2014 rotation would then set up like this:
Medlen
Beachy
Hudson
Minor
Teheran
+ Graham and Gilmartin knocking on the door. Which brings me to my next point.
I think Braves are positioning themselves to make a run at Chase Headley. And I think we have the package to get it done.
Maybe the Braves could swing a trade for Headley by trading one of their young starting pitchers plus Francisco/Johnson. It might take another prospect to get it done, But this would be a very strong offer and something the Padres would consider. This is assuming Francisco/Johnson performs at a decent level this year which I think they will.
