This is the best news I have heard, since Troy Polamalu scored that touchdown on Sunday night.

Wren also said the club has never talked about trading Heyward.

Wren made decision to fire Parrish after meeting w/ him Thur. afternoon and not being satisfied w/ Parrish's answers, etc.

He's the one who hired Fredi without seriously considering a single other candidate.

I don't blame him for that. He almost had to hire a Bobby guy, too many Braves higher ups mandated it. Fredi was a lock from the beginning. I believe Fredi will be managing for his job next year.

The fact that Fredi says "no staff changes will be made" and Wren announces Parrish's firing one day later, tells you all you need to know about how he's viewed by Wren.

Well, that will either motivate him or completely destroy his confidence.

In other words, bullpen.

Sure getting a lot from Wren today, with no comments from Fredi. Someone's in the doghouse.

Lowe will just move into Kenshin's old place in Mississippi.

Come on dude, that was more Bobby Cox than Wren. I think Wren is the only one up there with any sense.

Yes, I posted tweets earlier saying as much.

Bobby certainly played into, but this is why you don't become beholden to a manager. I HATE hiring "one of his guys." Good management doesn't hire based on being "one of his guys." They hire based on credentials and fit.

Wren: "Larry, why did we hit so many homeruns this year, but score so few runs?"

Parrish: "I teach homeruns."

Wren: "But why were 90% of them solo shots?"

Parrish: "The guys wanted to get laid."

Wren: "What?"

Parrish: "Chicks dig the long ball dude. Greg Maddux told me so. These guys want to hit the home runs, not just be on base when other guys do it, so I told them to forget drawing walks."

Wren: "You're fired."
