Freddy for three then Wood for three....could be a nice change up.

Better guy than me. I'd have gone Ari Gold/whiteboard on him.

You need a shadow. Hale fits that mold. No problem with Hale being on the roster.

I just don't understand the need for 7 outfielders (obviously I'm counting Gattis as one since he's our starting LF even if Bowman and co. want to count him as a catcher). I hate Uggla as much as the next person, but Constanza should not be on the roster as a 7th outfielder before Uggla when Janish is our only reserve infielder.

I find it odd too that Varvaro got left off in favor of Hale. Wood is already there to be a long reliever, but I guess we want to use him in lefty on lefty situations. Seems like maybe they over-thought some things, but Fredi doesn't seem to ever think. I'm sure they still know better than I though.

Barves still get the sweep

If they can hit above .200 the deserve to be on the roster above Uggla. Seriously the dude has been frickin terrible, I applaud Fredi for leaving him off the team.

Downs has been terrible against lefties which is why we signed him in the first place... They are batting like .375 off him.

This.

Uggla pre braves was an awesome player. He got lazy and everyone knows it. I am so thankful that the Braves Org had the brass balls to call him on it.

Yea, no problem at all with Downs being left off. I don't think that's a huge surprise. All I'm saying about Constanza is that I can't imagine a scenario where he'd get into the game. He won't be a defensive replacement, and with Scafer also on the bench it's hard to see him getting an AB. If nothing else we could carry Uggla instead to guard against injuries on the infield, and he is one of our better baserunners even if he isn't as fast as Constanza. And again, I hate Uggla as much as anybody and hopefully we can find somebody to eat a small portion of the money we owe him over the next to years like we did with Derek Lowe.

I'm hoping that this will light a fire under Uggla's arse and straighten him out for next year. I doubt it will happen, but for some odd reason I just really want Uggla to be successful with the Braves. That said, I don't really blame the team for not putting him on the roster...1-2 automatic outs in the lineup during the playoffs just isn't going to work, no matter how much they get paid.

Look I have no problem leaving Uggla off the roster. He has been really shitty for a couple months now.

I just don't think you can leave him off for Constanza or even Elliot Johnson

God, I hope our bats aren't cold tomorrow. I feel like we have to hit atleast one homer a game to win.

I'd wager there's a very low chance Uggla plays for the Braves next season.

ATL radio made a point that Costanza could have made the roster solely for pinch runner purposes.

It sucked being in Atlanta this past weekend and not being able to see a Braves game. If it wasn't for a test friday I would have went to the pitchers duel. Couldn't stick around long enough sunday to catch the game either.

It's been 11 years since I left the east coast and haven't been to Turner Field since.
