No they weren't.
Manfred even said as much after the fact. All of that was a scare tactic so that the players wouldn't go out to strip clubs and casinos.

They did, hence the bigger rosters. I think the key is going to be tracing. The Marlins was confirmed to being from players being careless and going out. If it turns out the Cards are from the same thing I think you will just see MLB come out with a "If you goes really don't take this seriously we will cancel the season. No more chances." If it turns out they think they got it from just normal travel, the season will be done, IMO.

Watched the Mets broadcast of the first 4 innings on the elliptical this morning and he never said anything close to this. Totally made up.
He was talking about how good his stuff is, particularly his fastball and changeup, and how he can see why the Braves are so high on him.
Mentioned that he could probably use some more seasoning but he’s got a great arm.
