It seems like Wright and Touki want to strike every batter out. Newcomb and Folty have the same problem. I don't know if that's because of being too reliant on analytics or what the deal is.

Throw strikes, let the other team put the ball in play, and trust your defense.

Well of course you'd love 4 scoreless every time out. The problem is you don't want to have to constantly run those guys out there after 3 innings every day in a short season.

But if you get to 5, so far we've shown there are plenty of capable bullpen arms and we're still waiting for Smith.

Minter has had a great start as well btw.

Alonso vs Braves this season:

2-for-23, 10 K

Make that 2-24 with 11 K (and a mini-tantrum in the dugout)

At what point do we brand our logo on his arse?

You do realize that we are playing with expanded rosters right now, right? Can’t afford to play like when we are down to 26

I'm still not sure how good we are... if at all.

The Mets obviously suck, but I thought splitting with the Rays was good but they are about to lose 3 of 4 to Baltimore.

Only playing with 26 for about a month. I’m fine with taking advantage of expanded rosters for the next 3 weeks.

The Rays are very good. I won't complain about stacking these wins right now. We're gonna need them.

It's weird having a good bullpen.

I know the game is far from over but I take joy in the Braves single handily ruining the Mets season in this shortened schedule. Even if this season doesn’t finish.

Multiple more Cards have tested positive. This is probably our last game.

Did you think MLB started the season believing that no teams wouldn't have multiple positive tests?

I know Frenchie floated the idea last night that they might have to keep the rosters expanded if they want the season to continue with the covid positive tests happening. If they do that I saw keep an expanded bullpen and do some bullpen games.

Passan’s report yesterday indicated season is not likely to be cancelled based on Marlins or Cardinals results. Would take outbreaks after increased protocol enforcement this weekend.

They were “strongly considering” canceling the season when Miami had their breakout. I have no clue what they were thinking, but things aren’t looking great.
