The idiots have zero summed the notion that other stats beside BA have importance.
To them any mention of BA is now irrelevant.

It's a fun stat that I look at, but it doesn't measure how good a player is. It completely disregards walks, which is pretty important. Just ask Jeff Francoeur.

BA is not an all inclusive stat, but that doesn't mean it's irrelevant and should be ignored.
BA is a telling stat about a players offensive ability.

Not going back and reading a bunch of idiocy, but this is right. It is not the end all/be all. It may or may not even be the best stat to consider. But it is a stat that does carry some weight and rightfully so.

It carries some weight, but I don't think any smart GM would use it when trying to decide how to pay a player or who to trade for or sign in free agency. I know I won't change anyone's opinion, though.
