It seems to me like sending a consistent right-handed power bat who can field three positions down to AAA wouldn't be good for the major league team.
Guess I'm wrong.
Guess I'm wrong.

yeah but his KBBIBB ratio is terrible

But yeah, mocking y'all who think that Gattis can learn a damn thing at AAA at this point is really really fun.
It's not about learning. He doesn't have much left to learn. It's about keeping him sharp and opening up a spot for another arm in our very thin, very beat up, and very overworked bullpen. He has done a LOT to help us this year, and that really can't be understated, but you can't play 162 games with a 6 man bullpen. Especially with a manager like Fredi who doesn't think it's time for a day off for a reliever until after he has thrown 4 days in a row.

Because that's totally something people have said in these threads at all period. Way to attack a straw man over and over while continually being obtuse about it.
And I agree with you about Gattis staying up, but damn you are being obnoxious.

I would use "field" loosely.

Yeah, Fredi did so much better with the bullpen last year, but this year it's back to same ole Fredi, abusing the crap out of arms and making weird decisions on pulling pitchers.

Some reason I wasn't sure if he played last year a but and missed the cuff on AB's. still technically a rookie but no eligible any longer

Still wish we had left Huddy in last night.
I know the delay and all, and maybe he was feeling it more than he was showing, but he was cruising when we pulled him.
And we don't have the pen flexibility for Fredi to abuse this year. We need to trade for or bring up some arms.

Gattis cannot play the field well. Get that through your head.

he keep throwing during the rain delay. He may have only had 60 or soemthing game pitches, but the pitches he made during the delay probably equaled a full game.

we could also put tim hudson at 1b but that doesnt mean he can field 2 positions well

I might be in the minority, but I think he's a very good catcher. His arm is nothing special, but he gets in front of everything.

Yeah, I'm sure we'll trade for a reliever or two once folks start selling. But the problem with bringing guys up from the minors is Fredi would have to actually freaking use them.
How many times has Carpenter been used since he came up? Three-Four times maybe? And he hadn't been used in about a week before last night. Rasmus has yet to pitch since he came up.
We are basically running with a four man bullpen at the moment due to Fredi's usage patterns.

I was more referring to him at 1B and LF.
He's fine at C.

Yeah, Rasmus got his first inning of work last night.
These injuries f'n blow. Our pen should be a strength and now it's a question mark.
Good news is, pen arms are generally pretty easy to acquire.

The only people have cited in regards to Gattis is his OBP. Is OBP too complicated for you to understand?

Oh...yeah he's below average at 1B if we are being generous, and I won't even comment on LF.
