You are totally misunderstanding the argument
My understanding is to keep your best players in Atlanta so that you have the best major league team.

How much better would this team be if only Gattis were in Gwinnett getting his at-bats?

Great game by Kris Medlen tonight. He was excellent.

Yeah they have me in Mobile. Pensacola market I guess? Even though Pensacola gets the Braves I'm pretty sure.

I remember well, two or three weeks back, the crowd that insisted that we had to send Oso Blanco down to Gwinnett when McCann got back because HE HAD TO GET HIS AT BATS.
I knew this would be hard for you, but quit being dense. The argument was that Gattis is the only guy you can send down and not lose anyone while he can improve in left and at first and still get consistent at bats in AAA.

Meanwhile, by sending him down, your major league team isn't as good.
Brilliance, I tell you...

The bench is better, but the bullpen is weaker

Teach him to play second base and send Uggla down.

Gonna agree with beatbammer on this but you guys already know that.
Gattis is just too important to the team this year to not be with the big club all year long. Tonight was just one of the many reasons why that is the case.

Yep. He's just too much of an impact bat off the bench and as a pinch hitter. He could easily be worth 3-4 wins over the season instead of the likely replacements. Particularly given that Laird is just a barely above replacement level catcher. And given how close our race with the Nats will likely be we need every bit of help we can get, particularly with us losing two of our best relievers for the year.
And while I can understand wanting to get Gattis more at bats, I'm not sure what crushing AAA pitchers is really going to teach him. It's not like great prospects usually go hang around in AAA very long these days, he'd mostly be facing AAAA pitchers and young pitchers that need more seasoning.
