He is an interesting case. Not sure how it will play out because the batted ball profile is so different than it was in the minors. He is not a 40 HR guy like he has been so far but I think if he starts hitting more GBs and LDs his speed comes in to play more like it did in the minors. He could easily get to 30 steals or 30 HRs depending on the approach he settles on. He should settle in as a +defender at 2B though not as good as Baez. Lack of walks so far are my only real concern.

Ozzie babip this year is .275 and his career is only .299 so far in under 100 games. He is only 21 years old right now and is gonna be a good player for the Braves.

Yeah the BABIP should theoretically rise for Albies. I certainly wouldnt expect both his BABIP and ISO to regress. He seems to be selling out for XBH so far but a more conservative approach and he could easily hit an emptier .300 with his bat to ball ability and speed which would likely result in huge SB numbers.

He has a .400 babip hitting left handed and hasn’t walked yet in 51 plate appearances. While carrying a 1272 OPS. There is regression coming there. His RH numbers will tick up a bit. They will balance out to a pretty good hitter for the Braves

Think you have the handedness numbers switched but you are correct. That said, he is said to be a much better RH hitter so I am a little concerned the average from the left side may always be a little lower than you want.

Does everyone else want Carle as our closer?

I haven't read the thread, nor will I, so cliffs and responses to what I said will be helpful.

I haven't been on the MSB for very long but is this the longest ATL thread ever?

Lol not even close. 2010-2013 these were typical thread lengths.

okie, 31, Hubs, Swamps, Whitie, TH, auzach, roldat, hilt, etc. were in their primes. We even got a heel in crimsonian in ~2012.

Here is a random July game thread from 2013 - was the first result when I typed ATL Thread 2013 in to google

I'm sure those NLDS threads in 10 and 13 and one game playoff in 12 + maybe the last day of the 11 season (completed the September collapse) were 50+ pagers.

I would expect 10+ pages to become the norm this summer if the team stays in contention. A lot of Braves fans otb. Just difficult to put a lot of time in to the team when Pedro Ciriaco, Daniel Castro, Ryan Doumit, etc. were getting PT.

Most nights over the last few years I was more excited to flip back and forth between Ozzie's ABs in Mississippi, Acuna ABs in Rome, Newcomb's start in Gwinnett, etc. on MiLB.TV than I was to watch the slopfest that the big league team was throwing out there.

How about that. People are more interested when a team plays well.

Im with you though. Cant tell you how many times I watched/listened to KB at bats in AA/AAA. Much better than suffering through an Edwin Jackson start.

You may be able to directly relate, Edwin Jackson sucked for the Braves too around the same time.

Did a search for the wild card debacle against the Cards and saw that the thread was 44 pages. I was reading the board at the time but was not yet posting. Got a good laugh reading some of the highlights just now. Some douche named Broseph Barksdale posted the following:

Not quite enough for the curly W, Braves fans.

You are all welcome to ignite your Natitude if you'd like to keep watching a winner.

Still haven't won a playoff series yet...

The thread for Game 1 of the NLDS against the Dodgers was in the 30s.

That 2013 team that barreled through April was prime ATL thread. Okie would start trash talk threads almost daily.

The ATL thread is one of the if not the oldest daily baseball threads. I'd love to keep winning and bring it back to what it was. I remember we'd be refreshing Twitter all day to see the lineup posted to start the thread. It was fun being excited about the team every day and this year is bringing that back.

I miss the kimbrel gif though.

Your hate for Albies knows no bounds I guess. It is starting to pour over into the MSB.

Yep. I agree with everything you said. 2013 was awesome. I think I made my first ATL Thread that season bc I went to some games at The Ted in June & wanted to start it. That was a fun summer.

Still woke up pissed about last night though.

And yes. The Kimbrel gif was awesome
