Other people can start these you know. I just don’t like starting when my last one loses

Joe West is really pissing me off with his strike zone.

And Julio didn't suck at Suntrust. What a day.

nice outing by julio finally at suntrust. I thought here we go again with that first inning bomb but him and Kurt looked good together last night. Finally kept the ball down but that one mistake. Will be there tonight

I know Flowers is one of the best defensive catchers in the game, but I would like to see Julio's numbers the past two years when Suzuki catches him. There might not be a difference at all, but it would be something to look at.

I'm actually interested in this as well, so I wasted time at work just now crunching the numbers for 2017 only. Suzuki wasn't here in 2016 and this year he's had 2 of the 3 starts with Suzuki and 1 with Chris Stewart.

It turns out, he fared about the same with each:

15 starts with Flowers - 4.50 ERA, ~5 2/3 IP per start

14 starts with Suzuki - 4.30 ERA, ~6 IP per start

1 start with Recker - 15.75 ERA, 4 IP

2 starts with Freitas - 2.13 ERA, 6 1/3 IP per start

Maybe we should resign Freitas

I then went back and looked how he fared vs each team.

He did very poorly in single starts against STL, Toronto, and Milwaukee. He did very poorly in 2 starts against Cincy. His other non-divisional starts were ok to good.

Against the division, he did the following:

Washington - 4 games, 6 1/3 IP per game, 3.24 ERA
NYM - 5 games, 6 IP per game, 3.26 ERA
Phil - 4 games, 5 2/3 IP per game, 5.79 ERA
Mia - 2 games, 6 IP per game, 3.75 ERA

Julio was great. Refreshing to see that from him. Minter gave me a case of the nervous shits, but he battled through.

Is there a bigger self absorbed tool than DOB? I follow him but damn, he just sucks.

DOB is a cranky, elitist a-hole

He's also right most of the time
