Olsen has had a higher WAR and more homers than Freddie the last 2 years FWIW.

And that's playing 81 games in that cavernous park in OAK.

Getting 5 years younger in our World Series window without missing a step at 1B is a good move.

The Braves can actually be a better team now b/c they have more $$$ to be able to sign Dansby & Fried and to bring Soler back.

And then lose Olsen after 2023. You’re busy trying so hard to be “right” that you aren’t thinking this through at all.

Yep.

It's a bittersweet day. Thus is the cost of business.

Love how I get DV'd when I say trust AA. You know he's only the guy that just gave this team a WS title for the first time in 26 years.

You get downvoted because you are a bad poster and you constantly change your opinion and act like you've head that belief for decades and are the only person to ever hold that belief

I'm not worried about being right or wrong. Unlike you and a lot of fans, I am not an emotional fan. I am rational and look at things through that prism. You are the one who's worried if I was right or not.

This gives them the flexibility to resign both Fried and Dansby and bring back Soler.

Olsen was the 6th most productive player in baseball last year.

You project more drama than my 6 1/2 yr.old daughter. Change your tampon.

Pujols comparisons

Pujols is like 3 years older than hes listed and the stats guys said right after he signed that he was going to be worse because most of his homers went to left field in the first few rows in St Louis, that section is just grass in LA

Someone tell Soler he can't leave Atlanta until his ball lands

Sure, and when you're up front about them thats fine

When you are a bad poster no one likes and you pretend that you never had the opinion at all, it clearly isn't fine to those in this thread

Zack Klein is on 680 now.

He said AA came to the decision last night that he had to move forward w/the Olsen deal b/c he couldn't afford to keep waiting on Freddie and risk losing the Olsen deal.

Damn. I don't envy him in the least.

If that's true, then it's on Freddie. ST starts today. Deals are getting made left and right. Lots of teams need 1B and they couldn't risk getting left out.

Bring back a guy who had one good 1/3rd of a season, a mostly defense first shortstop whose slumps are legendarily bad, and Fried who is a stud when healthy but not really a spring chicken for a guy who only recently really came into his own. Most people don't realize hes already 28.

Though just to be clear yes absolutely sign Fried. Maybe on the other guys.

I could give two fricks if you or anyone else likes or respects me or not on here.

This is a MB for Christ sake. Not a boardroom.

And I admitted last week that I was possibly ready for Freddie to leave.

Fans will blame AA, but the truth is if Freddie wanted to be a Brave for the rest of his career, he would be or will be. What he can’t do is hold the franchise hostage while he works out his feelings.

I'm completely agnostic. I'm just saying what people are thinking. If you post a thousand times by friday or quit the site after this one, i really don't care. But it kind of sounds like you do.

Dansby gives you 25-30 homers and GG defense. I could care less about his batting average.

And if yoj aren't good defensively up the middle(SS, 2B, C, & CF) than you ain't winning many games.

Dansby is a crucial cog.

Riley needs to be locked up, also.

Why would they give Freddie a heads up? So he can get out and front and sign with the Dodgers and give the A’s more leverage?

The goal was to strike first here whether you’re AA or Freeman imo.

why do they need to tell Freeman if they know he's not coming back? You are making assumptions being pissed.

Exactly.

People are all.up in their feelings.

I think they should tell him because he has been the face of the franchise since Chipper left, because he has been on your team since 2010 and was the one who they built around after selling off all of the other talent in the rebuild, and lastly it is because that is the right thing to do to another man who has given you all he had while working for you since drafting him in 2007. You look him in the eye and tell him thank you for all you have done for us. It may be old fashioned, but it is the right way to do business.
