Please don't tard up this thread.

Finkle has already done that.

Maybe, maybe not. Doesn't help to have Chipper going on podcasts saying how he hates their hitting approach. Even if he meant the league as a whole. AA can trot the same lineup out there next year and hope for closer to 2023 results, but if they show next year and continue to miss 93 mph center cut fastball and continue to fail to score guys on 3rd with less than 2 outs, it's going to lead to some problems.

Chipper is a hitting consultant for us, he deserves some of the blame too.
And yes, you have to move on from Seitzer. Every hitter other than Ozuna, was significantly worse than last season.

I think the truth lies in a happy medium between this year's offense and last year's offense.
Good organizations don't get rid of coaches after one bad year. That is something clown organizations like the Pirates do

So why has our playoff hitting been putrid once pitching ratchets up?
I get that you're terrified of change and you hate saying bad things about anyone that is associated with the team you root for, but there is a deeper problem than just "this was a bad year for hitting."
We're on the backend of our window, you don't really have the luxury of waiting to see if a problem will fix itself.

Chipper wasn’t on staff this year.

No he wasn't. Not this season.

correct. and may explain some of our hitting woes

Snit is gonna get “promoted.” Inner circles pushing hard for Derosa to take over. Would be a great hire and change the culture of the team as we move away from the Bobby Cox era.

Meh. Has he managed anything other than the Olympic team?
And Snit will be manager again next season.

Why would DeRosa be a great hire?

By hiring someone who played for Bobby and has said his favorite manager was Bobby?
Hmmmm

Arcia hit .330 with an .871 OPS in his first 53 games in 2023, through June 22. It was the best extended stretch of his career and earned him his first All-Star selection at age 28.
Since then, Arcia has hit .219 with a .638 OPS in 931 plate appearances, the fourth-lowest average and second-worst OPS among all MLB qualifiers in that stretch. His .273 on-base percentage in that stretch is four points lower than any other major leaguer with at least 700 plate appearances in that span.

He’s fine playing the role he played in 2021 and 2022 for $2M the next 2 years but cannot be an everyday player anymore.

I’m switching the spreadsheet over to all luxury tax numbers since we’re deep into the tax and heading for the maximum penalty next season. We should still have some room to play with. All the money we took on in the Kelenic deal falling off will help quite a bit. All the extensions are going to really pay off here in the next few years but I’ll be interested to see if we try to duck under the CBT number for a year here to reset the penalties. We’ll have ASG revenue and likely playoff revenue next year so getting under for a year before that influx could make some sense with how much payroll certainty we have with our core and could set us up for a massive payroll coming off the ASG.

If we're honest, he should've never been put in that position because he is easy for pitchers to figure out an effective plan of attack over the course of 162 games.
Totally fine with him being a UI.

So we got the Mets and Phillies making it farther than us in the postseason… awesome.
Maybe it’ll make us less guarded when it comes to moves this offseason.

I kinda think the Padres will beat whoever comes out of that series

Nah. AA gonna stay below that last luxury tax threshold like someone mentioned earlier.
