Isn’t Willy Adames going to be a free agent this year

Maybe they were all trying to hit the deader balls even harder. Everyone got drunk on their career power year in 2023.

Will be interesting to see how they handle Soler contract with Acuna slowly being worked back. Does Acuna strictly DH? If so, where does Ozuna fit when that happens?

Soler is not trusted in the OF, also Arcia is a bench utility piece at best, would like to test the waters in FA for a SS.

You need someone that gets on base a lot at shortstop, with all the other swing and miss guys we have. He's the easiest to replace. It's not like you can get rid of Riley, Ozzie, and Olson.

Yeah, but it's pretty hollow.

I'm not going to back to look but I would guess he missed fewer games this year than any of the other core starters: Strider, Fried, Lopez, Sale

Finkle wants a 40-man made up of cash considerations and PTBNL.

I was pissed when we bowed out in 2022 and 2023, but all I feel this year is relief. Looking forward to improving the roster and seeing the guys get healthy.

Remember when we thought we were also getting Adames in the Murphy deal because the Brewers were involved?

We need to pull up the 2022 offseason thread because it was pretty hilarious how people went from 'AA IS GAWD" to "What the frick did AA just do?" in the span of 10 minutes.

What are your thoughts on having fricking Murphy as your C instead of Langeliers or Wild Bill? That trade was really fricked up

I haven’t even taken the time to look up his stats other than he had over 30 HR this year. Defensively I don’t even know

Our catchers can't throw out any runners anyway. Much of that may be on the pitchers. But once automated strike zones are here, the value of a defensive catcher is voided.

Just checked. He hit .251. 32 HR 112 RBI
Stole 21 bags

Looks like he fell off some defensively this year

Not having Langeliers doesn't bother me in theory, because we were going to have to part with one of him and Contreras at some point.

It bothers me that because of how the Freddie stuff played out the way it did, we had to use Langeliers to fill a hole in our core instead of building around or expand our core.

I've said many times already that the Contreras trade made little sense at the time and it looks downright stupid now with hindsight.

but we should have kept Freeman, Dansby,

Freddie not being here is on Freddie. That's all I'm gonna say about that.

And when it comes to Dansby, no way in hell would you pay him that amount of money. That is top-5 position money and best player on the team money. And he is neither.

should have kept Contreras

Agreed.

You also wanted to trade Acuna. So you can't be taken seriously.

He said last night he's coming back. And he's not going anywhere till he retires.

You're not getting rid of Seitzer after one bad year when he has consistently(this year aside) had productive hitting teams.
