Do you think its a positive for someone who shoots 90% of their shots from within 3 feet shoot 42%? Caitlin Clark shoots the majority of her shots from outside the lane is a 45% shooter Reese cant even shoots that percentage on layups.

It appears to be pretty effective if she is leading the league in +/-.
She's 202-433 on 2 pt attempts this year. Thats 46.6%. When you factor in those 58 offensive boards from her own misses that negated them, that puts her at 202-375 which would be 53.9%
Add in the 166 free throws at 73.8% she has made from shots in the paint and she can be pretty effective.

there is a dude, who posts clips of the big players, and he was posting sloths recent game, and she literally was standing under the hoop to the left, and nearly missed the whole rim off the back board.

Not worthy of its own thread, but saw this and thought it was ridiculous.
Last game of the season is on 9/24, yet each team has about 5 games left. Ridiculous how far they stretch a 44 game season. It’s almost as long as the NBA season and they play half the games

Its womens basketball. They dont make layups as much as men due to them being shorter and less coordinated.
With her rebounding ability her actual 2pt percentage is higher than someone like Aaliyah Edwards who makes 50% of her layups but only gets her rebound back on misses 2% of the time

Her shooting percentage is her shooting percentage it doesn't increase because she grabs her own misses. Sure women make less but no one makes less than Angel she very well could be the worst shooter in the history of professional basketball.
Also she is 6 foot 4. Spud Webb made a much higher percentage of layups than Angel and he is 5 ft 6.
If women are as bad as u say how do you explain Caitlin shooting a higher percentage than Angel and Caitlyn isn't shooting almost exclusively layups like Angel is.

it does though as a coach analytically. Angel Reese has 195 offensive rebounds this year.
would you rather a player that makes 200 out of 400 layups and gets you back the ball for a second possession 50 times a season or a player that makes 184 out of 400 layups and gets you a second offensive possession 200+ times a season.
with those 150 extra offensive possessions you would expect to score way more points than the 16 extra makes.
also Reese is top 10 in free throws made per game with 172 made already this year
She's exactly 78th out of 148 players in offensive value per minute in the WNBA out of qualified players.
She's 5th in defensive value per minute

One of those rebounds she also got on offensive foul on and tuned out over
16 points on 14 shots and 11 non mebounds isn't really that impressive considering how often she gets uncontested ones. Also 4 turnovers from the post. Something that people kill clark for despite her having the ball significantly more and being riskier with passes
She is a mid to upper mid tier WNBA player but nothing special
Yesterday she bought them 4 extra possessions on non me bound offensive rebounds and gave away 4
So a net 0 in that category while missing 10 shots
