Is the statement meant to indicate that she is positioning herself better than the other potential rebounders? So it's praising her ability to smartly position herself for rebounds?

Yea, dude. Everyone is praising her athleticism She is exceptional at throwing elbows and not getting called for it, I'll give you that.

Does she go weeks without a mebound? She’d always assuredly have to given the clips out there of her scooping 4+ of them in just a couple back to back possessions.

It truly doesn’t seem to add up. And all y’all do is rage bait with it so it’s not like y’all are helping us find the truth.

I just don’t know if it does in the WNBA.

Relative to the other players? That is how you're supposed to judge athletics, right?

Man go watch long rebounding clips of hers. Especially offensive.

I don’t know how one can come away thinking they just witnessed talent.

Relative to the WNBA? I'd say yes.

Because we all compare it to men.

Among women, the most talented women in the entire world who play basketball, she is the best at it factually.

Compared to other women, she is the most talented at rebounding ever.

Nice of those other WNBA players to miss all of those shots so she can rebound them

I’ve watched a good bit of clips here the last 20 minutes and a ton of her rebounds are just scramble drills after the ball bounces away from multiple females failing to grab it and looking genuinely retarded doing it.

This was my exact point.

If my 7 year old was her size he could do the same shite

Except she is not. There are 12 players in the league 6'6" or taller. Including a player on her own team.

Hey sgallo’s alter, I was referring to her positioning on the court

Sure

But then we need to talk about what her being the best means for the entire league.

At the end of the day y’all want us to respect her ability, based on her rebounding skill in this league.

Oh no, her shooting is too bad for that though it is pretty close to the league average.

She has had 7 of 37 games with 0, 17 with 1, and 7 with 2. So, 24 of 37 with 0 or 1. Only 6 with 3 or more. It's just an old trope that kind of gets on my nerves. Just dog her shooting; there is not much defense there.

I try to present stats because stats are kind of soothing to my strange little brain. The guy I responded to was just being a butthead. So I replied in kind; I know I should refrain

That is a valid statement.

Kind of. Just don't be dismissive of it like they can all do that, because they can't.

Ok so I think this is the hang up….

It requires almost zero ‘talent’ to do what she does. I’m sorry but that’s just the truth

Does it take hustle, anticipation, and a little luck? Yes. It does. If yall want to praise her for that then fine, I agree it’s awesome to have someone on your team that does that….

But yall are acting like she’s pulling off some amazing feat that requires talent that nobody else has….. it’s just not the case. Sorry

I see, so she is better at positioning herself than other folks in the league. My apologies, I did not realize you were praising her.

No we compare it to competence.

There are plenty sports/events that highlight women’s skill, utility, usefulness, etc.

Women rebounding basketballs seems to hold zero weight if Reese is GOATing at it.

Take the best women in that ski/target shooting event. I can watch that. And I can confidently walk into any movie theatre and realistically expect her to obliterate every person in the theatre in that event. One can easily see and appreciate the woman’s skill. And usefulness. And can easily understand how difficult it would be to reach her level.

This isn’t happening with Reese. Then add her horrific lay in ability and turnovers and we’re left wondering what could possibly be impressive about her game.

On some level y’all want us to respect her ability. Why should we?

I hear you.

But all of these valid points you make just cause me to think more poorly of the other athletes in the league and not better of Reese’s skill.

And that makes it hard to have any respect for her game and even rebounding.

But many want us to respect her game or at least rebounding.

Nah, I get/see that(and appreciate it). I’m the same way and enjoy talking through this stuff.

I think sgallo gets a little too much heat over this topic too. He likes to boast when she does well but it seems fair to me and he comes off as a good dude.

12% of her rebounds are mebounds and I'm sure they're using a very tight definition of it so not counting when she gets blocked repeatedly then gets the rebound etc

Right, this would leave her with 6 games to grab the other 23 mebounds.

I can’t shake the notion that these stats aren’t properly recorded.

We see 3+ in single possessions.

Are they somehow crediting rebounds for some blocked shots of hers but not counting it as a shot attempt?

Something feels way off.
