The Ryder Cup has become complete trash because of the spectators. This is golf, not WWE.
Totally agree. They have hyped this tournament up for 2 years because of NY, and now they are reaping the benefits. I don’t expect it to be a church crowd but it’s been horrible to watch and even the coverage this week leading up to it has been horrible.

It’s wild that so many people whine to this extent about cheering and taunting in golf lol
No other sport has to baby its athletes like besides tennis.

No other sports have its athletes hit shots inside the crowd with them right on them either….
If football and basketball players had to go amongst the crowd like golfers do those brainiacs would have a malace at the palace every night

Court side seats?
I think Rory has handled stuff pretty well, at least publicly, don’t mind him and Shane yelling things back in the moment and he hasn’t whined about it publicly. Said it’s not his place to say if things are over the line.
Definitely need to police the crowd to a degree but then where does it stop?
I do agree you can be funny and heckle but the shite about his wife and stuff right before putts and shots needs to stop. That’s just lame and Busch league from our fans. Especially getting our arse kicked.
Can’t say I’m surprised though and we will move on with a huge, embarrassing L so I don’t think Europe cares that much.
However, if the match was closer or we were winning, I think the complaints would be on a different level.

Go listen to the no laying up guys. They said it got completely out of control with the crowd just yelling personal stuff straight to Rory’s wife
NLU guys aren't exactly partial when it comes to Rory. They've been dick riding little cry baby Rory for years now.
Overall I like NLU, but the Rory love is out of control. And I get it, he gives them access, content so hard to totally blame them but it does make me turn them off when Rory is being discussed.
who cares if the crowd got out of line. PGA of America should have had enough security to kick those people out. People are wanting to talk about the crowd b/c no one wants to really talk about how abysmal our team has been. I think it fair to say the other side has been historically good but the play from the US has been an all timer.
Morikawa is the most glaring example of a "top" US player who should probably never be on a team again.
Until we figure out we need to pick guys who want to win and have a little fight in them, this trend will continue for a while. The fact that you are #8 on the points list shouldn't mean much when it comes to making the team. Can you compete? Do you fold under adversity?
Posted on 9/28/25 at 8:49 am to cptigger
Agree and its more than just points and can you compete etc.
Morikawa has had like 5 caddies in 12 months and changed his putter 14 times this year, with zero success on either change.
We just need new blood. I think half these guys have already made way too much money and it just doesn’t matter to them. We also need to completely re calibrate our approach.
None of these guys were ready whatsoever to play match play compared to the euros. Just abysmal.
For all the crap Morikawa and Burns are getting, data and pure stats aside, I think Henley was a bigger anchor than anyone just from a momentum and shot making standpoint. You can’t play someone that is consistently 2-3 clubs behind every player in 4somes. Throw in some shocking putting at key moments and it’s just unbelievable. It makes zero sense. Play him in 4 ball. Same thing for Morikawa and English. Those two decisions just handed them 4 points and that’s on Bradley.
I wouldn’t expect to win the way the euros are playing but to get 2 points total yesterday after Friday, that’s just folding like a lawn chair. Especially with 3 matches close in the afternoon.

I’m not talking about whatever point you’re trying to make here. But no surprise you’re arguing something that nobody is lol
Having silence on every shot for professional athletes is the highest level of babying in professional sports.

For Scheffler… I read that of the 64 holes he’s played Euros have birdied 35. Wild stat!
They set the course up as easy as your local country club. It’s been preferred lies all week. The rough does nothing but tee the ball up. How many times over two days have we seen guys struggling for par? Very, very few.

So why isn’t that allowed?

So talking amongst the crowd during tee shots is allowed?

At the Ryder cup? Yes. You not watching?
At any other event it’s just considered rude. We apologize to your delicate sensibilities we like golf events to not be jersey wearing Busch light drinking events if we can help it
I think I speak for most golf fans in that the last thing we want is “golf events would be better if they were more like nfl fans”

So crowds talking and making low level general “noise” = Busch light crowd ?
You’re reinforcing my point that golfers and golf fans are the weakest and most babied of all professional sports lol

Explain why it’s so bad that you be quiet during a golfers shot? ADD?

Bro This didn’t even make him that mad but it’s a straight frick you as he is mining up a putt
This is out of line for golf… next Ryder Cup needs to be at Augusta with them handling crowd control. They don’t put up with this crap

The masters is one of the most popular events in the world for a reason. I guess you hate it because there aren’t enough tik tok reels being filmed during it with people talking

Because it’s laughable that golfers need complete silence to be able to hit a shot when no other sports besides tennis has to baby its athletes to that level lol
