I know a guy that played golf with Phil during his college years. He once told a guy to pickup his 10 ft par putted before he hit a 20 ft birdie putt. He then proceeded to drain it. Phil won a pga tour event as an amateur. He started off very strong but went with graphite clubs that were crap for money. Norman did the same thing with Spaulding Tour Editions. Had Norman played a Titliest he would have won more. So Phil loses years with crap equipment. Then has his skiing accident. Lost more years. Probably could have won much more otherwise. I don’t care if Phil is a jerk. He is a competitor. I respect that. He also has valued money at the expense of his career. Now with LIV it makes perfect sense. He and Norman are two peas in a pod.

Phil switched clubs because Callaway paid off his Vegas gambling debts.

Got pretty unlucky on 14 and 15 and then I’d love to know if he let those bad breaks get to him.

Scheffler got those same “unlucky breaks” and was able to get up and down twice when Rahm couldn’t from the exact same places on the course.

Felt like Rahm ran out of steam at the end.

He didn’t have to try to erase a 5 shot lead

He was tied or one shot back when those “unlucky” breaks happened.

LIV exhibition league;

Not hating and LIV is what it is, but when you start every single post involving LIV by stating it's an exhibition league kind of makes it hard to take anything you say serious because you're basically stating you have a dislike for anything to do with LIV.

LIV is good sometimes and sucks sometimes. But this anti LIV shite is kind of weird when the Tour has stuff like the 3M and Rocket Mortgage. And they should never be forgiven for having a net fricking championship as their Tour Championship. What a joke

On another note, i'm officially sick of Jim Nantz. With Rory's win at Augusta he told a 10 minute long Make A Wish story about Rory's whole life leading up to that moment. Only for Rory to miss the putt and him have to tell the exact same story again.

Then comes yesterday and Scottie has the win locked up and on 18 Nantz mentioned Rory four times. Dude, get Rory's penis out of your mouth, my God.

He’s been awful. He’s turning into discount Tom Rinaldi. Not everything is that big a deal, just call the fricking golf man

At some point, a person may be a complete selfish douche deep down, but if they constantly put up a front and are kind to people, even if it's fake, and they do it day after day for a long time - I'm not sure why I'm supposed to continue to get worked up that at their core they suck as a person.

That's where I am on Phil. I acknowledge his reputation among players is probably deserved, but you can find thousands of fans who've had warm, positive interactions with him, particularly kids over the years. So, at least in some sense, who cares if it is fake?
