After the second round of the US Open in 2018 at Shinnecock, DJ was leading at -4. Finau and Berger were both at +7. Those two guys ended up being in the final group on Sunday.

I don’t necessarily think +7 is in it, but any person around +4 who shoots 67 or better tomorrow will find themselves in the middle of things on Sunday.

Burns is playing phenomenal, he's likely gonna be the leader going into the weekend by a few strokes.

The most he could possibly lead after today is by 2. Hovland is in the clubhouse at 1 under

Was that Rory who just advanced it 10 feet out of the bunker?

ETA: yep it was. Big number incoming.

Good start by Cam Smith today…

Also, I never need to hear anything about Niemann until he’s in contention at a major on a weekend

Found lightening in a bottle the first weekend of April. Hopefully it’s not another decade plus before it happens for him again. Not off to a great start

Got the kiss of death when Phil said he was the best player in the world.

I hate they’re going to get all the rain this weekend. These greens could be some of the craziest we’ve seen if it stayed dry.

feel bad for the poor bastard in last. He's sitting at +33 with 3 holes still left to play. Shot an 86 yesterday and is grinding to break 90 today.

I think rain will, however, make the rough impossible with how dense it already is

Lol I’d claim the hell out of that. Sell tee shirts “I finished last” all over the place. Do interviews, etc.

He’s in the bunker on 18 off the tee. Needs a double to get to 90.

ETA: 6’7” putt coming for an 89

ETA2: Sinks the tickler for a smooth 89.
