A guy not wanting to play the following week after disappointment in a major shouldn’t really be newsworthy. Even the media who sensationalizes everything isn’t really making a deal of this

Rory but is that surprising? What is your point?

Not really coming from Rory. Yesterday obviously completely broke him.

What is coming from Rory? It is a crushing loss, one that will be relived a lot over the years. Why is that surprising? Life is not a message board

He’s broken

May never win another major. Surely won’t get the masters.

Scottie has surpassed Rory as the people’s champ anyway.

Scottie literally got arrested for something he didnt do and went and played golf a few hours later. Could have easily WD’d

Mature thing to do is use the loss as motivation and go win this week.

I’m not bashing Rory, I actually have always liked him. But it’s clear the mental game is weighing heavily on him.

Right. He clearly can’t handle the mental aspect of such a monumental choke job.

Did Jordan ever pout and sit out after a finals game loss?

Playing three weeks in a row is a lot for any golfer and they don’t really like to ever do it

Doing it after the week Rory had only expounds on that. It’s a separate argument but there should never ever be a signature event after a major to begin with and the players have already voiced that

And winning the travelers does nothing. Rory will only ever be judged on his majors from here on out. Whatever best prepares him for Troon is what he should do

No but he literally quit the entire sport in his prime for over a year. Don’t think taking a weekend off really means much

Yea, coming back the week after a monumental choke job and playing well or winning won’t do anything. Instead he’s admitting he can’t handle it and running away from it.

It won’t. Rory has won plenty of non majors. He just won a non major a few weeks ago

Taking this week off isn’t a big deal. But go on being a typical modern sensationalist

Not after a choke job like yesterday.

He had a worse choke job in the 2011 masters. Lost a 4 stroke lead on the final day

Followed it up by winning the very next major he played after taking some time off

There is zero reason for you to be the way you are. I truly want to know does it bring joy? How? And why? I would love to study the brain of someone who somehow elicits joy by saying things they absolutely don’t believe on a message board

Why are you arguing with this clown? The dude is so ate up with envy over Rory he can't even postulate a coherent argument.

I’m indifferent really. Just point out the truth when people can’t see it.

Don’t understand why it’s one way or the other..

He…to put it mildly.. choked it away.. he also played really well.
He then bolted and subsequently pulls out of a committed event. People are going to call him out for a myriad of reasons and it comes with being Rory..

At the same time. He doesn’t really deserve scorn for pulling out, he suffered a tough loss at a pretty odd time in his life.. his emotions are pretty real for what he’s got going..

I think this may be the last penance he has to serve before getting back to winning majors.
