He was was a runner, defender led with the shoulder….and both feet stayed on the ground while he hit the runner.

It’s beyond time to let the refs judge intent. It’s so obvious when a defender is out of line with a legit target of the head or neck area.

I didn’t think the hit on Stockton after his pass should have been targeting……but if this was targeting, that hit on Stockton was DEFINITELY targeting

That rule needs to change. If you still want to throw a personal foul and penalize them 15 yards then fine, but there is no reason they should kick kids out of games for legit hits.

I agree. The ambiguity would lead to calls being questioned, but there has to be a change. I think the judging indent or unavoidable hits have to be considered

I’ve thought so much about it and strongly want to believe that. But shite man it can’t get worse and it would absolutely clean up a shite ton of ridiculous calls around the margins.

I do get that there has to be a rule to point to in order to keep ceiling on outrage at a manageable level. But I’d like to see it attempted.
