agreed. Although I think Texas did was just as good as Florida (and just as deserving). USC just as good, Utah just as deserving.

Utah: no, especially since they played a 1-AA team (and barely won)

Texas does have an argument, but their real-time SOS was very much hindered after the bowls

UF played a BCS conference schedule, and didn't struggle against Citadel

Well they blew out the Citadel. But I don't really understand how Utah beating a 1AA team by double digits is a black eye. They went undefeated, of course they are gonna have their "down" games...at least they won those down games.

Utah went undefeated with a comparatively weak schedule to Florida; but it was still formidable. They beat 4 ranked teams, 2 top 10 teams, and blew out most (but not all) the lesser teams. Utah deserves to be discussed, but they should have been in the discussion months ago, not now.

Btw, does anybody find a flaw in that All voters had UF over Utah in the AP and when Florida beat a better team (OU vs. Bama), they flipped Utah?

(a) They played in a conference that was statistically as good as some BCS conferences

(b) if those down games were against OOC rent-a-wins or conference bottom feeders (Wash, Wash St., Auburn, etc.)

...sure

But maybe you are right and they lose a game. So then they have the same record as Florida with the same schedule?

BCS picked the best team as champion, but yet again, didn't give the best team the 2nd best team to play

You would say whoever won the BCS CG was the best team no matter what.

ETA: I thought UF was the best team all year, I ranked them #1 in the preseason poll.

Yes, just like they absolutely worked the Gumps in the Sugar Bowl!

I know I will get hell for saying this, but the SEC was not nearly as good this year as in the past. The SEC's reputation saved Fl. this year.
