You can take them out of the hood, send 'em to a great school district. But the hood in them will always be there.

Horrible story all around. White kid accidentally knocked Anthony’s phone out while walking by and Anthony turned around and accused him of breaking it and stabbed him.
Unreal. those are two good schools in a good area
Frisco has been doing the affordable housing and allowing too many apartments for awhile. I have read about some crimes there that I only read happening in other cities closer to Dallas a decade or so ago. It’s not the first student to be murdered. There have been several since Covid. Had students arrested for assaulting special needs kid and other crap.
City of Frisco allowed zoning changes to allow new apartments that allegedly were staying within a certain %, but they didn’t change other areas already zoned for apartments but without development at the time. Those existing areas later also built apartments. Frisco also annexed in an area that was having low income apartments built within it.
The other issue is apartments in other cities that fall under FriscoIsd boundaries. Plano area within FriscoISD has a ton of apartments. Liberty appears to include some apartments south of 121 in Plano that seemed to be getting a little sketchy pre-covid, so who knows what those apartments are now.
It’s not nearly the level seen in larger cities, but cities in FriscoISD unnecessarily let in too much trash that their residents had purchased homes inside the school district to get away from.
EDIT: I was assuming kid from Liberty based on the tarp in stands next to the memorial one, but a similar name comes up on Twitter/X as being at Centennial which has some older apartments inside its boundaries.
Not sure if the below is the correct Karmelo Anthony, but would be close to age and is from Frisco

Why do you need a knife at a UIL meet in Frisco?
Oak Cliff, Duncanville..I get. But Frisco?
Those coming in from these areas including BR to live in overly large amount of apartments allowed by the city using sect 8 and with sect 8 housing rentals don’t leave behind their broken culture like those who actually earn their way into same areas.

City of Frisco posted mug shot and stated Karmelo was a Centennial High School student and also that the victim was 17 not 16 as previously reported.

I just knew the hair was going to look like that.

This is why Lovejoy District residents and south Lake District residents are so opposed to allowing multi family housing.

multi family housing.
Destroys neighborhoods, which is sad since there are truly some good people in apartment complexes but there will always be the ultra shitty tenants

I just can’t imagine stabbing someone over a phone.
Even in high school I had heard so many stories about prison that I was terrified of doing something wrong.

Can’t even imagine what the poor kid’s parents are going through. Send them off to a track meet only to get stabbed by a POS. How do you begin to even process that?

There’s people online claiming (who knows if it’s true) that the victim was a twin and his twin twin brother was watching it happen.
Posted on 4/2/25 at 6:30 pm to GeauxTigers123
"They were twins, identical twins, and his brother was holding on to him, trying to make it stop bleeding, and Austin's father, Jeff Metcalf, told NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.
"I rushed up there and I saw him on the gurney and I could tell -- they said he wasn't breathing. I could see all the blood, and I saw where the wound was, and I was very concerned, so I had to find his brother, and we rushed to the hospital. And we prayed, and it's God's plan, I don't understand it, but they weren't able to save him. This is murder."

I didn’t think this story could get worse, but this just made worse.

Victim’s father. He handled interview better than I would have.
quote:
Metcalf said his son was had a 4.0 GPA, was MVP of the football team and had a bright future that included going to college.
“He was on the right track,” Metcalf said. “He was loved by many. He was a leader.”
“I’m not trying to judge, but what kind of parents did this child have? What was he taught? He brought a knife to a track meet and he murdered my son by stabbing him in the heart. The guy was in the wrong place and they asked him to move and he bowed up. This is murder,” Metcalf said.
“You know what, I already forgive this person," he added. "Already. God takes care of things. God is going to take care of me. God is going to take care of my family.”

Sounds like the Southwest Houston Effect. How to frick up nice normal neighborhoods in less than a decade.

That's a very graceful approach.

A damn shame the suspect is 17 and not 18.

Obama’s HUD directives were an all out assault on middle class and affluent suburbs.
