Where are these letters coming from and why in the world would Graham Harrell come out and write something like that?

These e-mails were forwarded to CBSSports.com on Tuesday. They include messages from strength coach Bennie Wylie, inside receivers coach Lincoln Riley, former assistant coach Dana Holgorsen (now at Houston) and former players Eric Morris, Graham Harrell and Rylan Reed ...

I think McNeill's comments after the game, while lobbying for a job are very telling. Why would he say you can trust your kids with me?
That should never even be a consideration. There is more than what some are wanting to see.

They were basically form letters. A cynic might suspect Leach was soliciting help from friends to denigrate Adam James' character.
Post game comments by Brandon Carter and other current players were very telling, imo.

Can anyone name any current players that have come out for Leach? I haven't seen one yet. Not one player showed any support for him in the game either. It seems this current group just didn't like him for whatver reason.
If you believe the players, he changed this year, essentially started believing his own hype that he was bigger than the program.

Sounds like they're ready to just move forward with Ruffin, and I don't blame them.

Players? Maybe they were told to support the school's decision....or else.
Interim coach wants to be permanent head coach. No surprise there.
Harrell and the other former players can and are saying whatever they wish

hahaha
OK,,
if they support Leach its part of a conspiracy,,but if they support the administration its legit
not saying that Leach didn't ask for the letters and make suggestion,, also not saying those critical of Leach aren't being honest
but to imply that ONLY the Leach supporters are being manipulated and the Administration/James supporters are virtuous and pious is just ridiculous

Your words, not mine. And I don't think it's accurate to lump the players in as "Administration/James supporters." They might know more about the situation than we do.

At what point can people not forget he wasnt fired for putting James into Isolation. He was fired for filing an injunction to "Coach his team".
That was not HIS team, it was TEXAS TECH'S team.

supporting the school's decision would be to keep quiet, players have come out and said how relieved they are that he's gone.

adam james wouldn't have been on the sidelines last night if they were all in support of leach.

oh come on...
you cant walk right up to the line then tap dance around it.
Ive been very unbiased in my posts
I've acknowledged Leach is an unchecked ego
and that He had a history of odd "punishments"
before James
but this isn't about James?
EVEN IF,, hes telling the truth, hes still a trouble maker, and a lazy child of privlege
James IS a malcontent and Leach had him placed in a "closet"
thats what took place,, those are the FACTS
that is mild compared to other things Leach had those players do as a form of dicipline and the administration NEVER..NOT ONCE,, NEVER EVER
told Leach to stop
they accepted it because TT winning games made the alumni happy,,ONLY after Leach and the Tech administration come to odds over the contract extension did the Administration development the resentment that is the real cause of whats going on
james the whiner was just the catalyst

Owl, Tech would not have made a move to remove Leach, suspension or termination, if they didnt have the required reasons.
Again, the reason Leach was fired was for filing the injunction. He could have let the suspension happen, get his payments and work it out, but he refused.
ESPN broke the story, not naming James until a day later. Yes they asked James, who confirmed the story, but ESPN reported on a suspension and Leach over reacted and clearly thought he was going to bully Tech by filing the injunction.
I, and this is speculation based on hearing Leach and the others involved, clearly think Leach thought he was bigger than Tech and played Chicken and lost. Now he is trying to repair damage but will be damaged goods and never be a HC again.

I can do whatever the frick I want, Chief. How about you don't put words in my mouth to build up a straw man to flex your mighty internet fighting muscles on?
I think Adam's teammates' opinions are more valuable than a bunch of internet tough guys; sue me.

Holy Crap! I was laughing at the guy comparing Mike Leach to Nick Saban, but you're taking it to a whole new level by mentioning Bear Bryant.
For you guys who seem to think Mike Leach is John Wayne restoring manliness to America, just keep in mind that his fat arse has never played a down of college football. Hell, I don't know if he even played high school football growing up in Wyoming. But yeah, he's a real tough guy for waddling around the practice field calling a guy who's actually scored TD's for him a pussy.
You've got to completely ignore reality to be celebrating this guy as a great coach.
Fact: never won a national championship
Fact: never won even a share of a conference championship (something his predecessor did)
Fact: most successful season ever ended with a bowl loss (and it was NOT the most successful season in TT history).
Fact: never received a single offer from another school
I do not get the love-fest for this guy on TD.
Adam James has scored 2 tds his entire career.
Leach won 5 bowl games in the 9 he coached - the same number that the school won in their entire history before he arrived. If it wasn't for Mike Leach, no one outside of the state of Texas Tech would even know where the frick Texas Tech is. Name another coach in Texas Tech history that led them to a win over a number 1 team and finished with 11 wins in the same season. I'll wait for you to dig up some excuses and bullshite too.
Also, Mike Leach talked to Washington last year - thus his raise for this year.

I wouldn't go that far, but he does have some rebuilding to do.

Aside from a couple cuss words, you've added nothing to the conversation.
If you want to know what other Tech coach has won 11 games, you can look it up too.
If you know how to use the google, you can also go look up the Top 10 highest paid coaches. Find me a link to one credible analyst who believes he belongs in that category.
