Chaisson will qualify, that's not an issue

Herman will do fine recruiting next year. He isn't a 'core values' guy like Strong was. He is a coach that got a grill made and talks about his favorite rappers.

I didn't realize FSU was getting into the mix. Really haven't followed his stuff since A&Ms implosion

How much longer do you think Sumlin has?

And kisses his players, whether they want to or not. Weird dude and a questionable coach after finishing sixth in the AAC this year. He may be an OC again in a couple/few years.

This is it. Very real chance he doesn't make it through the season

Interesting... Morris is a great recruiter but kind of similar to Sumlin don't you think?

Herman has tried (and failed) to flip every single A&M and Oklahoma commit so far.

He pretty much is sumlin 2.0 which could be risky. But sumlin was this close to working out until he started doing weird shite to sabotage himself. I think Morris could work but he's not my #1 option. I do think he's the favorite though

This is common with a new coach taking over. I think they'll finish between 20-25.

I understand that and agree with you. But, considering Herman is moving a mere two hours away and is now at the premier school, I assumed he would be doing better (at least with the in-state kids). I'm sure he developed relationships with Texas players while at Houston. I just thought that now he is at the flagship university, he'd have a lot more ease in luring these kids to Austin.

Not really. At one point, Dylan Moses was all the way in Florida and entertained the possibility of taking an official visit to Houston. Yet guys like Walker Little and Marvin Wilson are right there in Houston and wanted nothing to do with him when he went to Texas.

Texas just went through the worst period in its modern history.

i thinkt here is some back lash as to how how strong was treated. not so much on herman but on the school itself. kids really liked and still do like strong.

Rhule has gotten 19 commitments in a month at Baylor. Nobody elite but solid 3* athletes. Remarkable considering what he stepped into.

You sure about that? Seems like most of the time when a change is made you always see a recruiting bump by the new coach if he's perceived as a improvement over the last coach. Sumlin had a big time bump if I remember right when he was hired from UH, Herman isn't nearly the homerun hire some make him out to be imo. He hasn't had much of anything positive happen since he was hired, but he did hire a guy from rapeU told his recruits and their parents to stay clear of social media and is still taking a PR hit with in state guys for the way he handled his departure from Houston. I expect the bmd's will have their bagman step their game up but success is far from guaranteed in Austin at this point.

It may continue.

Strong and UT lost to Kansas???

Herman and UH lost to SMU???

Don't know which is worse but both are VERY BAD.

Strong liked to have guys wait to commit until NSD

Anybody know the reasoning behind that?
