There is absolutely no justification for that rule. If you want to penalize a coach for throwing a challenge flag on an automatically reviewed play fifteen yards and take a challenge away, so be it. However, when a rule allows a player to score on an 80 yard run when he was crawling on the turf like a toddler...yeah, it needs to be changed.
