I think Courier said Alcaraz rarely uses the dropper, but then my pops is texting me Alcaraz has one of the best droppers he's ever seen and then he drops a beauty at like 5-5 in the breaker. I am confused there. Hubi played a solid set and showed more power than normal. For Alcaraz to win that set playing his B game and Hubi playing well tells you a lot. I would think this second set is one way traffic.

Pops is right. Not sure about Courier... didn't hear it.

I was actually expecting a bit of a lull from Alcaraz early in the 2nd, but that never happened. Looks like we might get another breaker.

Gotta remember he played a DC match a few days before IW, then played 5 matches there including an epic 3-setter with Rafa. Now this is his 5th match here and 24 hours after another thriller. Yeah he's 18 but the mental toll has to be exhausting.

And he still wins. Nike needs to start pumping out the Escape From Alcaraz shirts.

Alcatraz has the makings of the future of tennis.

More than zvevs, thiem or meddy.

And swiatek really should start racking up titles now with barty out of the way. Her style is really unmatched right now in the women's game.

He definitely has the crowd support that those 3 never had.

Her footwork reminds me of Graf's which is the best ever. Constant fast little steps. She only reaches for a shot as a last resort; never due to lack of footwork.

Hi everyone. The last months I have been playing with a small hernia. Together with my team I have decided to have a small procedure done to fix the problem. I will likely be out for the next 1 - 2 months and will work hard to be back on court soon. Thanks for all the support

Perfect timing

Good to see Swiatek beat up Wokesaka. Men's dubs finals was pretty good. Hurkacz looked like a midget compared to Isner when they hugged at the end.

In regards to that Alvaraz drop shot. He uses it from the ad side a lot when he runs around his backhand to set up for a big forehand. You have to respect the forehand so when he flips to the continental to hit it there is no time to run it down from so deep in the court. You cannot win a match hitting those but it compliments the big forehand well.

Barring major injuries and retiring in his 20's, Alcaraz is gonna win 25 majors.

There, I said it.

I wish we could say that about any American mens player…. I think we need a Tiger Woods of tennis in order to return the sport to the prominence it had when i was a little kid.. i have liked Fritz for a long time, but i dont think he has 25 majors in him .

I would put 50 / 50 odds that Fritz will even win one major tbh.

Sock chokes a double-break lead in 3rd set to Garin. Not sure if chokes count on clay though.

I didn't realize Monte Carlo has crept up on us. Davidovich Fokina and Tsitsipas are set for the finals tomorrow.

In the qtrs Tsitsipas was up 6-2, 5-2 against Schwartzman, then was down 4-0 in the 3rd, then won 6-4 in the 3rd. Post match interview he said something to the effect "in the end he is Diego and I am Stefanos"

The philosopher is pretty funny sometimes, even if he is a bit douchey.
