It might be ugly but yeah I would be surprised if he loses.

That must be the just-played-a-final discount. I wouldn’t worry about fatigue though. He’s like 13 years old.

My thoughts exactly.

I was thinking that Kohl should be a bigger favorite. He's just a better grass court player. Were you thinking the same thing?

I see that one as a toss-up, so the + money appeals to me. Kohli just lost in straights to grass-specialist Mahut on clay, then followed that up with a grass loss to some dude Kecmanovic.

A little 3 AM tennis action.
What is that unusual object at the top of the stadium that keeps out rain?

Stevie routined him.

I caught the tail end of Stevie/Monfils last week and it was pretty entertaining. Stevie had a sweet sidespin backhand approach on match point that was tailing off the court, but Mofees anticipated it perfectly for the forehand winner, then won the breaker. I kind of tuned out on the tournament and didn't realize Felix got to the final.

Took me a few seconds to figure out what you were saying. Reminds me of how Erik Kuselias once went on a radio rant about "Dick Gasket" that was pretty funny.

I posted earlier in a bit of a disparaging way about Stevie's grass court chops. After a visit to tennis abstract, I have to stand corrected on that. He's actually pretty decent on grass. Probably on account of his slice backhand, which is going to be more effective on grass than any other surface.

The Barista bageled Fritzy in the second set. That's a baaaaaad look on grass, Harry.

Why did they ever ban you? You've always been bold but nothing that screamed "ban."

Have to follow here. I can't imagine we will be seeing numbers like this for much longer with him.
Finally got around to watching the highlights of his final with Berrettini. Some random thoughts...
1. At some point between last month and today, his forehand seems to have improved significantly. I have a few possible theories, but the "why" is not important. The one he hits at 5:02 in this video, and the ones vs. Brown at 10:43, 12:34, and especially 12:59 (break point to stay in the match) all had me wondering if I was watching the right player.
2. He possesses that wide serve in the ad court that guys 6'2" or below (with a few exceptions, notably Roger) can't really hit consistently. It's a huge weapon that can get you out of jams since the majority of break points take place on that side. He had Brown straight up guessing, which is how you end up with 30 aces, I presume.
3. Considering FAA lost the match, it could be inferred that Berrettini is playing some damn great tennis. Yeah, that would be an understatement. This dude played Kyrgios, Khachanov, Kudla, Struff, and Felix and only faced 2 break points in the entire tourney. At 23, he has taken the slow route up the rankings, but his game is impressive for a 6'5" guy, and I'm curious to see if this success will translate to hard courts.
