wonder how that works against travel cost and loss of potential bowl revenue for teams losing games on the long trip to EP..
CUSA makes more money than the WAC... because of their markets. WAC probably has slightly better football, but only has 3 bowl tie-ins. CUSA has 7 bowl tie-ins. That is ridiculous because they only have 2 decent teams every year. But they have all those bowl games because of their markets. There is more "potential viewers" in Houston, El Paso, and New Orleans than in Logan, Moscow, and Ruston, LA. It's genious really.

Question for Tech fans.
As I understand it, the excuse many Tech fans give for not playing ULM is because "Tech is moving in the right direction."
Well, could someone explain to me what part of losing to other crappy WAC teams and playing in a league that consistently only has one decent team constitutes "moving in the right direction"?

And the student section actually makes Dooley masks.

Tech doesn't play ULM because Tech doesn't want to play ULM... bottom line. They say it is because we are scared. We say it is because it might drum up some interest in their program. You can draw your own conclusions.

Tech is scared that it might drum up some interest in ULM's program (and therefore cause Tech to become less popular).

Isn't it beatiful how Tech had all of this "hype" built up for this season and they are doing absolutely nothing to back it up. Meanwhile, ULM, who was picked in the bottom of the Sunbelt, is having their best season in many years. It's still early and things can still go bad, but I see a winning season for ULM this year. Tech's season, who really cares???

quote:Gotta win at least three of the final five to have a winning season. Western Kentucky and North Texas are gimmies; ULL and MTSU are in the title hunt; Troy is the best team in the conference. Big test this week for the Warhawks. If they can pull off the upset, buy your tickets for the New Orleans Bowl (I'll make sure and provide a link in this thread for any Tech fans who want to see a bowl game).

Will Tech fans be rooting for ULM in their bowl game this year?

I thought Troy is the Sun Belt's bowl team this year?

Tech looks absolutely awful tonight. This is what happens when you have one team who is too good for their conference playing another team who isn't good enough for the same conference.
Tech is closer to moving down than moving up. Don't believe me? Imagine the WAC disbanded. Where would Tech end up? (It starts with an S.)

Didn't look too bad for me. 23,000 people? Looking past wins and losses, the LA Tech program looked great on my TV. The ULM program and its 4,000 fans in the stands, lite-bright video board, and scissor-lift looked like dog shite in their game.

fixed. You're a fricking douche. ULM would never bring out 23,000 on a Friday night because everyone would be at the West Monroe game. Nor would they finish within 10 points of a top 10 team. Tech has averaged around 20,000 fans per game this season. Keep trying to tell me why Tech NEEDS ULM.

LA Tech Attendance Average (As of Boise Game)
21,169: 3-6 Record
We're doing ok. Winning would be nice though. If we would handle business on the road in Utah and Idaho, we'd be sitting at 5-4 right now.
Next year, Tech fans. But we can't be upset about 2 good-looking National TV games. And I don't think we've ever averaged over 20k for a season.

ULM 1-0
Tech 0-2 (counting Hawaii as a loss because Hawaii scored on Tech. Any team who can't shut Hawaii out seriously sucks.)
Great showing, guys. Going in the right direction. And Dooley put on a play-calling clinic on that last series. When you need 17 points in less than four minutes, and you run it up the middle four times, that's when SEC schools come knocking your fricking door down.

You really are a fricking idiot aren't you? I suppose Boise should be unranked since Tech held Hawaii to 6 points and Boise gave up 9.
