Since ULM hasn't played any home games in Little Rock, AR this year they average just over 10k...
After watching their game against ASU on ESPN I doubt there were 3k fans at the game.

well considering the weather was terrible for two of those home games and one was against a SWAC opponent, maybe we should be cut a little slack ehh?

does ulm play well at home? I don't pay that much attention. Tech has always played well at the Joe. Its road games that are the killer. 3-0 at home 0-3 on the road this year. If they just win one of those the team goes from 3-3 to a decent 4-2.

they need to GTFO of the WAC.. their road record would immediately be better..
UTEP has the same problem being in CUSA..

ULM is pretty even when it comes to playing at home vs away if you take away the money games on the road. well I mean you have to take in account Tech's roads games, Auburn, Navy, and Nevada. now those are all pretty tough road games. and their only other somewhat easy game on the road left is Utah State. They could easily beat Fresno and Idaho if they just play decent in my opinion.

+1. XIV has given Tech shite but CUSA makes a shite ton more sense for Tech than the WAC. Travel would be more feasible and opposing teams would bring more fans. Tech's attendance would get a boost from the visiting teams fans which is something we lack right now. Not many fans are traveling from Utah, Idaho, Cali, New Mexcio etc. Blah blah blah Tech sucks.....Tech athletics are a little bit better than Tulane and fans actually show up to games.

yeah thats why I said only 1 win on the road. A win at Auburn was damn near impossible, pretty unlikely at Navy. But at Nevada has to be a winnable game. With the exception of Boise, theres really no stand out teams in the WAC so you have to be able to beat conference teams home or road. Thats the knock I have on Dooley. For whatever reason, his teams have sucked on the road.

It's always made sense to me for Tech and UTEP to swap places. UTEP is a natural in the WAC and Tech is a natural in CUSA.
But that's not how it works. UTEP has a bigger market and CUSA is a market conference.

This was announced yesterday:
LA Tech Partners with Populous for Master Facility Plan
Dooley stresses importance of strategic planning
Oct. 20, 2009
RUSTON -- Athletics Director Derek Dooley announced today that Louisiana Tech has launched a strategic partnership with renowned sports architectural firm Populous to develop a master facility plan.
As part of the partnership, Populous will provide conceptual design and estimates regarding the expansion and renovation of all athletic facilities. Facility design will focus on the needs of University students, student-athletes, fans and athletic staff. The designs will also incorporate various options to develop new revenue streams.
"It is no secret that the premier student-athletes of today demand the finest in athletic facilities and equipment," Dooley said. "To elevate our recruiting potential, it is essential that our facilities meet or exceed the expectations of high caliber student-athletes and compare favorably to our competitor schools."
Populous is a global design firm, which recently completed a buyout and separation from HOK Group of St. Louis, Missouri, that specializes in comprehensive design services, including sports architecture.
The firm has created some of the most recognizable professional sports venues in the country, including Yankee Stadium, Busch Stadium, AT&T Park, Pepsi Center, PNC Park, PETCO Park, Oriole Park at Camden Yards and Reliant Stadium.
"Populous is thrilled about our partnership with Louisiana Tech," said Scott Radecic, Senior Principal with Populous. "We look forward to planning improvements to athletic facilities which will enhance fan experience for premium patrons, provide the athletic department additional revenue streams and help build a better foundation for student-athletes on and off the field."
The company has also built a reputation in the collegiate world, partnering with universities such as Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Minnesota and Washington on new athletic facilities.
Dooley has continually stressed that maintaining facilities and strategically planning for the future is an ongoing process.
"In the last few years, we have taken small steps to improve our infrastructure for our student-athletes, student body and fan base," Dooley said. "Our new partnership with Populous will provide the blueprint to significantly enhance the fan experience and national competitiveness of all of our programs."
The partnership is being funded entirely from private gifts. Rick Shirley of Dallas is a former Tech letterwinner and alumnus and a strong supporter of the University and athletic department's plan to improve facilities.
"The strong high school programs in Louisiana and the Ark-La-Tex region are nationally recognized for their consistent production of talented Division I recruits," Shirley said. "Louisiana Tech is located in the heart of that base. The planned facilities will not only be beautiful but state-of-the-art, and I am convinced that they will propel Louisiana Tech Athletics to the level that supporters expect and deserve."

wonder how that works against travel cost and loss of potential bowl revenue for teams losing games on the long trip to EP..

bs to all. Tech, ULM, North Texas, ASU and all the rest need to reform the old Southland Conference. Play schools that are equal sportswise and no further than a couple of states away. Its not like the WAC & Confernce USA are major players.

didn't realize that but I just don't think the games against the Florida and Tennesse teams in it will ever become rivalry games for ULM.
