I take that as 1000 names on my petition to have Tech/ULM revived permanently, home/home.
I take it as just how desperate ULM fans are for a game with Tech.

yeah youre right. where the hell is birmingham? us tech students aint got no learning on a map. i was actually thinking in terms of an sec team within range of a decent size city with a sufficient football stadium. does ole miss @ tech in jackson work better?? even though you totally danced around my point. should tech do something like that youd start a thread about how pathetic the program and its fans are that it has to resort to something like that.

People make too much of the Arkansas@ULM thing. Ole Miss used to occasionally play their home games vs. Tennessee in Memphis to make more money.
The WAC likely will be raided by the MWC in the next few years as an indirect result of Jerry Jones' push to make the Cotton Bowl a BCS bowl. That's going to leave the WAC looking like this:
Hawaii
Idaho
Nevada
New Mexico State
Louisiana Tech
San Jose State
Utah State
Expect North Texas, Arkansas State, ULM, and ULL to get a call in that case.

Tech wont be in the wac long term. It just doesnt make sense with the travel expenditures to boise hawaii nevada fresno and all the other states that far west. ad knows this and wants out

...and the beat goes on. Oh I'm sorry, the BEATING of ULM goes on. We're even winning the emotional battle here it looks like! Thanks for all your entertainment, XIV. You're such a comedian! If you're such a big ULM fan to begin with... why the hell do your supposed "fans" of ULM root for LSU anyway? I don't get that. I guess you just have "little man syndrome." Stay classy, Chickenhawk.

Tech was in the Sun Belt years ago. We left to join the WAC.... which opened up a spot for, guess who... ULM. (you owe us!)

Fail.
The Sun Belt as it exists today did not exist before 2001. ULM joined a new Sun Belt that has nothing to do with Tech.

Need anything else be said regarding some of the Tech fan's elitest attitude.
"big mean ol' Tech"
By the way, why is it that Tech people think they can't be fans of more than one school? I am a ULM alum and Monroe native, but have always been a fan of LSU. When the two schools have only played one time there is no conflict. The same can be said for Tech. There is no rivalry between the schools (yes Tech fan, it doesn't exist, only in your mind) or mutual recruiting interests. LSU is the state school. I have always realized that, but still pull for ULM & LSU equally.

Fail. If Tech had stayed in the Sun Belt, ULM would not be in it.

Most of us went to school at Tech. We have no affiliation with LSU. We don't consider them "our school" because we were born (or live) in this state. There are some Tech fans who also pull for LSU, but it doesn't appear to be at the same level as ULM grads.... which is understandable.

I guarantee you that the Tech admin would jump at this if it was offered. It makes good sense to me. When the ULM vs Ark in Little Rock deal was announced I'm sure the Tech AD/Admin were like, "Man, that is a good idea, our attendance sucks too. I wish we would have thought about that first. But we can't do it now, it would look like we were copying ULM. WE ARE TECH, we have to keep our pseudoelite status."

It's because we have pride in our school and desire to see it become better and better. Recruiting matters a lot.
Tech is attempting to establish itself as the best football program in the state. For now, we'll settle for second-best behind LSU. And who cares if we never make it big. It's a lot better than saying, "oh, Let's know our place. we'll never be anything but a .500 team with students and alumni who support LSU more than their own school, because they're bigger." Here at Tech, we refuse to accept this.
Louisiana is LOADED with talent. Thus, any player who won't crack the stacked depth chart at LSU, wants to stay in state, play in a a legitimate conference, be on TV, get to bowl games, and have a chance to go pro, will look at Tech as a strong alternative to going out of state.
LSU can't sign every good Louisiana recruit. We're trying to be good enough to get them looking here before they look out of state.
Besides, not everyone wants to go to LSU.

I guess you just have "little man syndrome."
ULM wants to play straight up home/home. Nothing "little man" about that.

Fail. If Tech had stayed in the Sun Belt, ULM would not be in it.
The Sun Belt started with seven teams. The fact that they had so few was the reason they couldn't get a bowl tie-in sooner than they did. ULM definitely would have gotten an invitation. The Sun Belt knows its place as the southern bottom-feeder conference (too bad Tech doesn't know its place, or else it never would have left the Sun Belt so as to avoid ULM). Virtually any southern school who moves up to FBS will be invited to the SBC. Texas State, Georgia State, and Georgia Southern are three that likely will move up and be added. Watch.
