No. He just wants Tech to play ULM. Like this board can do anything about it.

Don't underestimate the power of TD.com.

These guys don't have a dog in this fight. They could care less about ULM and Tech. You should go to either a Tech board or a ULM board to discuss things ULM/Tech. You look like a dumbass here.

The ULM board in its history has less posts than this single thread. I'm serious too. Not much of an audience there.

I've got this thread going in the right direction.

Maybe you should go be ULM's AD?

Don't know much about the ULM board. But I do know there would be a lot of interest, and it would make a lot of sense, if in state schools like Tech, ULM, ULL, McNeese, Northwestern, Nicholls, et al, would play each other. I would take this whole thing farther than xiv would. I think the dreams these Louisiana schools have of being the next Boise St., Utah, Cincinnatti, etc., are pipedreams.

I think that's why Tech doesn't want to play ULM. We would improve long-term attendance if they would cease to exist.

It's kind of like a small-scale LSU/Tulane game. What does it benefit LSU to sellout Tulane's home games?

Tech's aspirations, as I said above, are a pipedream. Tech will never be a "player" in Division I. You're dreaming.

This whole "we know our place!" mantra from ULM fans is really pretty pathetic.

There is nothing wrong with a school's fanbase striving to make that school better, whether its LSU or Louisiana Tech or Delta State or Hines CC.

What happens when Dooley leaves LaPoly? Correct me if I am wrong, but this seems to be a stepping stone for him IMO.

Would ULM & Tech play again?

For the record, once again, I'm not a ULM fan. I used to love Louisiana college football when most of the teams played each other. Tech's dreams (as well as ULL, ULM)are just that if they think they will have consistent winning seasons in Div. I. and be rannked in the polls. These schools will continue to be fodder for the stronger schools, and they will struggle to stay at .500 on a consistent basis. What's the fun in that?

Let's just hope Dooley can win some games first. If he keeps this up, this may be his highest stone.

But no, Dooley isn't the reason Tech and ULM don't play.

I thought that I had read someone in the Monroe NewsRagCrap that he was against playing ULM.

Or was he talking for the powers that be at Tech?

Your implied analogy is horrible:

Tech : ULM :: LSU : Tulane

A more appropriate analogy would be:

Tech : ULM :: LSU : Ole Miss

or

Tech : Grambling :: LSU : Tulane

Know your place, Tech.

Absolutely. But getting better has nothing to do with avoiding a long-time rival with a history not quite as rich as yours.

Cincinnati still plays Miami U. every year, home/away.
Utah still plays Utah State every year, home/away.
UTEP still plays New Mexico State every year, home/away.

There is more disparity in the values of the two teams of each of those rivalries than there is in the Tech/ULM rivalry.

Tech just likes the smell of its own farts too much. frick them.

That's your place, Tech. You're nothing more than a stepping stone for aspiring coaches.

If I understand your attempted analogy, it's a poor one.
