I guess it's much better to go to the Humanitarian Bowl once and the Indy Bowl once than to go to say, the New Orleans Bowl five times. I bet flights to Boise were booked solid.

Ruston has Pizza Inn, that is some good stuff right there.

Wow, it's even worse since 1997.

Tech is 15-1 against Sun Belt teams and the average score was 44-20.

(the loss was to Middle Tennessee... they rushed the field and tore down their goal posts)

Here's the thing. I know xiv may disagree with this, but there are too many teams dreaming Div I dreams. I think it's pathetic to watch these Div I wannabes flounder around, win a meaningless conference championship and go to a bowl that's televised on ESPN2 and one that no one gives a rat's arse about.

No one on a national level gives a shite about Tech. They're an afterthought at best when they play a national power and get their asses handed to them.

A ULM - Tech series makes sense.

Of course, being the anachronistic man I am, I still think all of the state schools should wear their proper sized britches and play each other (other than the REAL Div I school in Baton Rouge).

Both Tech and ULM have defeated Alabama.

Tech has actually beaten Bama 3 times, but 1 was a forfeit by Alabama.

1 player (a TE) didn't create the 18 point victory on the road (24-6). But, I understand that in this series, you'll take 'em any way you can get 'em.

LT - Sun Belt
ULM - Sun Belt

LT has a bit of delusion, though; they believe that they belong somewhere other than in the SBC.

A newly re-formed Gulf States Conference with ULM, Lolly Polly, Northwestern ST., Ooh La La, McNeese, maybe SF Austin, a shool from Miss or Alabama. Forget these Div I pipedreams.

La. Tech - Louisiana Polytechnic Institute (I prefer to think of it by it's more appropriate name - La. Tech University is silly)

ULM is 16-11 against 1AA teams since 1994 (the move to 1A). I think they fit nicely in a reformed Gulf States Conference.

Tech, however, is 15-2 against 1AA teams since 1989 (the move to 1A). They would be playing down in a GSC.

Tech is 32-6 against ULM-caliber teams since 1989 (Sun Belt and below).

ULM has 45 total wins at the 1A level. Only 29 of those wins were against 1A teams and only 5 were outside of the Sun Belt Conference.
